Location description from owner

The Argyll and Bute region

Argyll is in the West Highlands and is one of the most spectacular parts of Scotland with scenery, lochs, historic sites, beaches.

Argyll offers a variety of activities, golfing, diving, walking, bird watching, pony trekking, or just taking a ferry ride to one of the many islands or you can just take a picnic and sit in the heather-clad hills and consume the beauty of your surroundings.

Campbeltown

Campbeltown is well known for many reasons. Whisky, Sir Paul McCartney and his famous song, the Campbeltown pipe band and the famous Machrihanish old golf course of which Jack Niclaus himself described as having the best opening hole in golf. As well as our new Machrihanish golf course opening spring 2009.

Why not pay a visit to our very own Campbeltown whisky distillery and learn how they produce one of the most popular drinks in the world.

Take a trip to Sanda Island via boat and have lunch at the bar or try a rib boat trip to see the seals and puffins around Sanda and out at the Mull of Kintyre Lighthouse.

Visit the Linda McCartney memorial. Or visit the Mull of Kintyre music festival which is held in August.

“Stunning location, wonderful break”

Reviewed 22 Apr 2014

We booked this cottage at the last minute mainly on the basis of the photo showing their location near the coast with the Islands Sanda and Sheep Island in the background. It didn't quite do it justice because it was even more stunning on arrival. Very warm welcome from Terry and Lynda (including a bottle of wine and a range of eggs!). Farmhouse very comfortable and clean. Did have Sky TV but we had such great weather that we made full use of the great beaches (Westport for surfing, Silver Sands and the local Southend beach) where we even saw seals. Would definitely come back again.

Thank you for your review, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and the local area. You are welcome back anytime. Lynda & Terry

A real pleasure sitting eating breakfast looking out at Sanda Island , Mull of Kintyre. The spotless farm house has a number of assets throughout . Looking forward to returning for more relaxation.

Thank you for leaving the house so clean and tidy when you left, you are welcome anytime
