Location description from owner

The England region

Camborne and the surrounding area was designated World Heritage Site status in 2006 by UNESCO. This accolade means it’s recognized as having cultural importance on a global level.

Cornwall is a mystical kingdom, unspoilt and unsurpassed. Awesome cliffs shore up the coastline, arresting in the sheer scale of their splendour. Below them the waves thunder into caves in a surge of sea and spray. Cornwall's heritage is still acted out in its tiny harbours - the landing of fish, mending of nets, stacking of lobster pots - an endlessly changing tapestry. In its old inns, heaving seafood platters are accompanied by tales of vast pilchard shoals, midnight brandy runs, shipwrecks and heroic rescues.

Take one step back from the coast and you'll find a very different Cornwall. A patchwork of fields lies unchanged from medieval times. Lush river valleys give way to wild heathland heaving with massive granite tors. Stacks from old tin mines point skywards from beds of heather and gorse. Villages boast curious and ancient names - Come To Good, Ting Tang, London Apprentice and Indian Queens. Parish churches, the best storytellers of all, wait in silence; and holy wells, Celtic stone circles and dolmens speak of other, more mysterious times.

Camborne

The area is a great base for visitors who want to explore Cornwall with good road access to Lands End, St. Ives, Penzance and the Eden Project to name but a few places of interest. The National cycle network Route 3 passes our door with the 7 mile Great Flat Lode mining trail cycle route close by. Tehidy Park Golf Club and Horse riding on the old mining trails are within a few miles. Great local Beaches for surfing, rock pooling and swimming are just 5 miles a way, so there is something here for everyone.

“a wonderful place to stay in Cornwall”

Reviewed 9 Sep 2016

From the beginning of our arrival the place felt very special. This is a newly refurbished, immaculate bungalow with plenty of space inside and a lovely terrace and garden for relaxing outside. It looks even better than on the pictures! The garden is lovely arranged with a lot of pretty plants and flowers. The whole place feels very peaceful. So nice for relaxing after a busy day of exploring Cornwall. The owner is always happy to help with anything. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the cottage for anyone who things of exploring Cornwall and staying in a beautiful, peaceful area.
