The East Sussex region
East Sussex and the surrounding area has some of the best attractions in the country. You really are spoilt for choice for every age group and interest. Whether you are after a beach holiday with outstanding coastline or walking through the rugged countryside and bird watching, Sussex has it all. For younger guests there are zoos, farms, sea life centres, steam trains, castles, go karting to name but a few.
For the more adventurous there are watersports, kite surfing, horse riding and golf all near by. Dog lovers will enjoy the many parks and beaches, there is a fabulous park in fair light which looks over Winchelsea beach and surrounding areas perfect afternoon walk after a nice Sunday lunch.
Dungeness is a short drive and has been in many tv dramas and programmes with its very rugged marshland and coastline (theres a nice pub too) or take the steam train from Romney which allows dogs, a favourite with our Labrador Jessie. Hastings has something for everyone, some free museums, sealife centre, a new Tate Gallery, Folyes war was filmed in the old part of Hastings. Wincelsea offers a pebble beach with a jurassic forest which is great for exploring and a amazing coastal path. Winchelsea old town is also famous for being the former residance of a certain Mr Spike Milligan.
Camber and it's award winning beach is breathtaking no matter what time of year you visit. The sand dunes are ideal for exploring or simply sit back and enjoy the view especially on a sunny day, a great place to look for wildlife or watch the kite surfers. Camber has 2 restaurants the Gallivant which is a gastro bar or the Dunes. The Green Owl pub is literally down the road and serves lovely home cooked food (our friend Laura will look after you!) or the Rye Bay Cafe who do great fish and chips. For takeaways you will find a fish and chip shop and indian. All of these places are child friendly and some even allow dogs, they all use local produce and are great if you don't want to go to far.
Just a short drive or bike ride there's historic 1066 Rye, unspoilt and charming with cobbled streets that lead to a castle steeped in history and a medival church tower that looks out over the spectacular Sussex coastline and marshes. Throughout the town there are boutique and antique shops, art galleries all perfect for a afternoons shopping and when finished try an afternoon tea in one of the many cafes. You will also find lots of different restaurants and pubs for a great evenings meal.
There are many annual events in Rye throughout the year including Rye Bay Scallops week in February, Rye festival in September, Boat race in August, Artists summer exhibition and the Sea pageant in October. Country fair in August.

"Comfortable, clean and did exactly what it said on the tin!"
Just returned from a great week at Seagrass in Camber. The house was lovely. A real home from home. Every need catered for, not that I really wanted to do much, but it was handy to have all your home comforts available ie. washing machine, dryer etc. Lovely fluffy white towels provided and beautiful bed linen. The house is ideally placed for the beach at Camber and only a short drive to many of the nearby pretty Sussex and Kent villages. We travelled with our two grandchildren aged 6 and 4 and they had a ball! It's a definite YES from all of us !!

"Fantastic hoilday home really clean, child and pet friendly and everything you need already there - a home from home!"
A really lovely comfortable holiday home that is perfect for any family. The home is very clean, fresh and has all the little things you need to make your stay easy and enjoyable. The sand is very close so no problem travelling far with young children. As pets are welcome the whole family can have a restful and happy holiday all together which is perfect.

We had a short stay for a weekend and found the place was clean, tidy and had everything we could need for a great break. Local pub was good nearby and the beach was very relaxing for a walk before my pint. will come back for longer stay.
