Location description from owner

The England region

East Sussex has a history that goes back to way before the Romans and a vibrant cultural life. The county is steeped in history, right back to the Bronze Age. In 1066 East Sussex was the location of the most famous battle in English History - the battle of Hastings in 1066.
East Sussex was the beachhead from which the Normans started their colonisation of England. Some of the oldest castles in the country date from this period with Bodiam Castle and Herstmonceux being outstanding examples.
The county has plenty of other historic buildings too, from Battle Abbey to the Royal Pavilion at Brighton, and comfortable stately homes and gardens like Batemans.
For people who love the great outdoors, East Sussex offers great variety. The seaside, the chalky South Downs and the gently rolling Sussex Weald are all within a short distance of one another.

Camber

Along the East Sussex shoreline, the ancient port of Rye is one of the best preserved historic coastal towns in England
Rye is one of the most interesting places to visit in East Sussex.
A former fishing and trading town of real importance, the retreat of the sea from the town means that Rye has been left high and dry as one of the best preserved small towns in England, with scores of historic buildings and a wonderful atmosphere.
Rye has a good quality annual arts festival each autumn, a scallop festival in February , a town parade for bonfire night and many other activities throughout the year.

Camber Sands beach boasts miles of golden sandy beach that are protected by the sand dunes that are unique to this area.It is ideal for long walks, making sand castles with the kids or just sitting on the dunes watching the sea.Camber beach also offers great facilities for wind surfing with a school on the nearby lake and many wind and kite surfers using the designated area of the beach.
