The Valenciana region
Calpe is situated in the middle of the Costa Blanca on the coast. It's the miles of sandy beaches and bright white pebbles which adorn the coastline of the Costa Blance that give the area its name. However head inland a bit and there's a real contrast of colours, with lush mountainus areas and bright splashes of orange and lemon groves alongside vinyards. This dramatic landscape paired with the coastal towns makes for an attractive area offering a variety of pursuits that cater for all ages and desires.
There are three airports Alicante, 50 mins by car, Valencia and Murcia both approx 1hr 15 mins.

Calpe's old town conserves nice wide avenues where modern buildings and old architecture collide. The place is almost three thousand years old. It is known firstly for the amazing landmark 'Penon de Ifach' - a huge granite rock rising over 600 meters high. It can be tackled the easy way or the hard way. A short tunnel leads to the Ifach's gentler slopes for an easier climb to the summit. A round trip will take about two hours. Hardier folk can climb the sheer rock face on the opposite side. Walkers will wander among juniper and palm trees amid interesting flora and fauna, surrounded by wild birds. Once at the top, catch your breath and enjoy the view across the Mediterranean. On a clear day you can see the island of Ibiza. Don't forget to
Calpe is also known for the Salinas de Saladar which are salt lakes. You can often see Pink flamingos there.
Two of the biggest attractions in Calpe are the beaches and the fish market. It is not easy to imagine it now but Calpe was originally a small fishing village. Even now each day, the fishing boats bring their catch in and you can even watch the fish auctions on the quay and buy the fresh fish yourself. The Calpe restaurants display the raw fish out at the front and prepare wonderful dishes from the fish you pick. One of the nicest restaurants is in the marina its self club nautico.
On each side of Ifach there are two fantastic sandy beaches and this is one of the many the reasons why most people come on holiday to Calpe - the beaches are of very high quality sand and the waters are very clean. The beaches are very long and wide. The facilities on the beaches are excellent with many play areas for children on the beach itself. The Calpe beaches are superb and always hold a blue flag which means they are certified as being clean by the European Foundation for Environmental Education. They are surrounded by dozens of restaurants, bars and clubs offering a wide variety of food, drink and entertainment.
