Description

Hawthorn Cottage is a stunning single story contemporary property designed by the owners & an award-winning local architect in 2006.

There is a luxury kitchen with granite worktops & quality appliances to ensure meals match the surroundings. The 2 king bedrooms have orthopedic mattresses & en-suite shower rooms (1 a full wet room) with a further family bathroom.

Outside there are 4 acres of grounds including FREE FISHING in our 2 lakes. The indoor pool, hot tub & gym is shared with just 2 other (smaller) cottages. Most of the time it is like having your own indoor leisure complex. The pool even has a state of the art swim machine so if you are tired of visiting holiday cottages with a tiny indoor pool this small pool becomes literally "endless" at the touch of a button.

Hawthorn also has a private outdoor premium Arctic Spa hot tub (extra charge of £60/wk or £40 per short break)

The rest of the grounds are shared with our 4 other cottages at Trehill cottages. There is an additional sunny outdoor pool (summer only), games room, 2 fishing ponds, trampoline, and children's play areas.

“Blissful relaxation”

We decided on a pre-Christmas Christmas celebration with our adult children and their partners. The 6 of us had a fabulous stay here. It had everything we needed and more, and was even bigger than we expected - very generous space. The private hot tub had amazing views, and the swimming pool, with its optional current machine, was an unexpected bonus - we didn't realise how effective that would be. The lodge overlooked a private lake and a donkey paddock and was extremely peaceful. The gym was well equipped, plus we had a few laughs on the table football machine, and table tennis. The location itself is out enough to provide serenity but close to Callington too. We were not far from Plymouth either, and also enjoyed a trip to Minions, a location recommended by our host. That was outstanding and gave us many super photographic opportunities. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Peaceful but still in the middle of many places to visit. The Eden Project was a delight as was a walk over Dartmoor. The hot tub was a relaxing way to end the day.

Travelled with extended family on a trip around sw England in June. While the trip itself was somewhat difficult this was a lovely spot. We did not use the facilities but the owners were always helpful in dealing with constant niggling complaints from my cousin. The grounds were very nice & the cottage itself was well furnished. I found it very warm (my cousin did not). We had a minor problem with the hot water, but apart from that I can have no complaints
