Description

Honipine House is special. It is individually decorated, ideal for all year round holidays because it is warm and comfortable and cared for as it is our own holiday home. We have often visited at Christmas and new Year in the past but now it is available. An end cottage in a row on the wooded Honicombe Manor estate, PRIVATELY LET, cottage only, not swimming pools or Gym ,but the Bar/restaurant is available with lots of events, music nights etc. The cottage has 2 ground floor bedrooms, 1 double, one twin, with pine furniture. A bathroom with bath, shower over, basin, heater, shaver & light. and separate toilet with basin. Upstairs the large lounge/kitchen/diner has been refurbished in 2013 and has a double bed settee. Double glazed full width patio doors to a patio with lovely country views to Dartmoor with furniture and on the ground floor another patio with furniture There is ample electric heating, recliner seats, flat screen T.V and DVD player.Pine furniture. The Tamar Valley is an area of outstanding natural beauty ( A.O.N.B ) and is Cornwall,s best kept secret. Honicombe Manor is at St. Anns Chapel, near to Callington. Close by is Kit Hill, the highest point in this area, while the Donkey Park Sanctuary is 100 yds away and the lovely towns of Tavistock ( Devon), Liskeard and Launceston are within 10 miles. The whole area is full of interest to those seeking historic Cornwall. Its tin mining heritage, both for walkers and those looking to discover the secrets of Cornwall and Devon,s past and natural beauty. Those interested in boating will find the estuaries leading down to the coast fascinating and the picturesque seaside towns of Looe, Polperro, Fowey and Plymouth a joy to visit. An Arts Theatre and Cinema are a short distance away and excellent pubs with good food close by.

Callington

THE ESTATE ON WHICH THE HOUSE IS SITUATED IS DOWN A LANE AND HAS TALL TREES AND MATURE SHRUBS SET IN GREEN LAWNS WITH PATHS AND A STREAM AND A POND. THERE ARE COUNTRY VIEWS TOWARDS DARTMOOR. ALTHOUGH A COUNTRY ESTATE, MANY ATTRACTIONS ARE EASILY ACCESSIBLE SUCH AS WILDLIFE PARKS, NATIONAL TRUST HOUSES, MUSEUMS AND THE TIN MINING HERITAGE TO EXPLORE TO MAKE YOUR HOLIDAY HERE ONE TO REMEMBER WITH PLEASURE.The Donkey Sanctuary is 200 yards away and The indoor Swimming Pool in Tavistock is great with its waves and slides and a very reasonable cost, set on the park with a canal, tumbling river, tennis and bowls. An arts Theater/cinema is here also, as is coffee shops in both the pool building and the Arts center.. There are many pleasant walks.

Getting around

Local buses stop outside of Honicombe, just yards from Honipine House. which go into Callington, Calstock and Tavistock. The local train station is at Gunnislake just a mile away, with ample parking.. The train is a very scenic ride of 55 minutes, single track passing over the Calstock viaduct and the estuaries on route to Plymouth, where the main line takes you further into Cornwall or Devon.The buses from Callington take you to Liskeard where you can board the local train to Looe, the beautiful fishing village on the south coast. From Callington buses take you all around the lovely Cornish and Devon areas.

Interaction with guest

You can arrive at any time of your choosing during the day or evening. You will be given the telephone number of the caretaker/key holder who will meet you at the property (give you directions if needed) and show you around and explain anything, or answer questions about the house, area, etc. She will give you 2 sets of keys. We pride ourselves on an excellent client relationship and will be on the end of a telephone should you need help or information during your stay. There will be flowers and a welcoming card as well as a warm smile to greet you. There is also a drawer full of local leaflets of places to visit, events, pubs, restaurants etc.The house is fully equipped with bedding and towels etc for 6 people.Beds will be made up for you
