Description

Creagan Cottage is situated in the village of Callanish on the west side of the Isle of Lewis. It is an ideal holiday base being centrally situated on the island . The area boosts spectacular sceneries, lochs, mountains and beaches, ideal for walking , bird watching, fishing and surfing. In the centre of Lewis are some prehistoric and iron age site, the most stunning of these being the Standing Stones at Callanish.
The cottage is well equipped with everything you need and has magnificent views looking on to the village of Callanish and the Uig hills. To the left and to the right of the cottage are views of Loch Roag which is a sea loch coming in from the Atlantic Ocean. The cottage is a leisurely walk from the Standing Stones and Visitor Centre. There are sea kayaks and bicycles available to hire locally and you are a 20 minute drive from the town of Stornoway which is the hub of the island and boosts a variety of interesting shops. The Isle of Lewis is the largest of the islands making up the Western Isles of Scotland. The area boosts spectacular sceneries, lochs, mountains and beaches ideal for walking, birdwatching, fishing and surfing. There are some prehistoric and iron age sites on the island which are well worth a visit. eg the Standing Stones at Callanish, the Iron age Broch at Carloway and the iron age house at Bosta Beach, Bernera.

Callanish

Creagan Cottage is in the village of Callanish home to the famous Standing Stones which you can see from the lounge window. The cottage is on the main road and looks on to the village of Callanish which is mainly a crofting township. The Callanish visitor centre and the Standing Stones are a leisurely walk away. The cottage has spectacular views of Loch Roag and the Uig hills.

“Excellent accommodation.”

My daughter and I spent 4 nights at Creagan Cottage, Callanish. The accommodation was excellent, great views, quiet location and we would highly recommend it. We will definitely return.
