The Canary Islands region
Fuerteventura is one of the lesser known Canary Islands and it lies just to the south of Lanzarote. In fact it is so close that a day trip between one and the other is perfectly feasible.
Fuerteventura airport is a few miles south of the island's capital Puerto Del Rosario and transfer time to the villa is just 10 minutes.
The island is famous for its peace and quietness, goats, aloe vera, deep sea fishing, windsurfing and other water sports. If you enjoy haggling over prices, there is a colourful market on Saturday mornings in Caleta. There are plenty of bargains to be had!
Cash machines and banks are plentiful. Almost everything you would expect to buy in an English town is available in Puerto del Rosario. It also has a huge 3 storey new shopping centre called Las Rotundas.
Areas of Interest/Other resorts
Isla Lobos - Los Lobos Island - Nature Reserve - Just a short boatride away from Corralejo. You'll have the wonderful view back to Fuerteventura and the chance to spot plants and birds not to be found anywhere else on the planet. Above all, an experience of serenity and privilege awaits those that make the little effort required
El Cotillo - small rustic little fishing village dedicated to the virgin of good travel (Virgin de Buen Viaje)!
American Star Shipwreck - On a small remote beach (Playa de Garcey) on the west coast of Fuerteventura lies the wreck of a ship. The American Star. It takes a fair amount of time to get there but once you catch your first glimpse of the wreck, you are somehow inexorably drawn to the beach where she lies.
Morro Jable - What was once a small fishing village with only 200 inhabitants, Morro Jable has now grown into one of the biggest holiday resorts for German tourists on the island (with around 8,000 inhabitants).
La Oliva - The village of La Oliva was the political centre of Fuerteventura from the early 17th to mid-19th century, and you can still see some of the buildings standing today. La Oliva is now home to the local district town hall (Ayuntamiento).
Corralejo - Situated in the north Corralejo is one of the most popular resorts on the island. Luckily, Corralejo has managed to retain its original charm and atmosphere, and there are still white sandy beaches in the town centre, where you can 'drop down' and soak up the Canarian sunshine. These dunes (which are a protected nature reserve) lie just beyond the town. The dunes spread for miles along the east coast and this is what makes Corralejo such a popular resort.
Caleta De Fuste
Caleta de Fuste is just 10km south of the airport so no long coach journeys! A taxi to the villa will take 10/15 minutes. You are never short of things to do in Caleta de Fuste with all the usual watersports available as well as boat trips, diving, and even a submarine offering undersea excursions.
Campo de Golfe, Fuerteventura's premier 18-hole, par 70 golf course extending 6124 metres is reached through the 5* Elba Palace Golf Hotel, a couple of minutes walk from the villa. The hotel is open to non-residents and has a café overlooking the driving range, together with an a la carte restaurant.
The nightlife is pretty varied too with plenty of bars offering all kinds of entertainment from live music to karaoke and a wide variety of restaurants including Chinese, Italian and authentic Spanish.
Because of Caleta's central location it's easy to explore the rest of the island if you hire a car.

The villa is lovely with a great pool area that is in the sun all day. There were plenty of sunbeds and lots of room for 6 people. It is on the golf course, right by the tee off for the 10th hole which I thought might be a little weird but it was really quiet and you hardly notice any golfers. It's about a 10 minute walk from a lovely beach and about 15 - 20 mins walk to the main town. I would highly recommend this villa if your looking for a relaxing break with friends or family.

"Great family holiday ... we'll be back"
Casa Jose was lovely! An ideal spot on the edge of the lovely but very quiet golf course, so not over looked at all. The villa was very well equipped with both beach and bath towels and every kitchen appliance you would need - you really want for nothing. There is a docking station and a great tv and dvd player and Wifi had just been installed so the kids could get their internet fix! The pool is small and initially we were a little disappointed, but it was great for cooling off and the little ones loved it - very safe for them and big enough for a few pool games. We spent most days and evenings in the villa, with barbeques nearly every night - the local Eurospar is very reasonably priced so it was more cost effective to eat in. Though we did have a couple of sneaky lunches at the golf hotel - lovely! Being in walking distance of town and beach was great - we were able to give our teenage kids the independence they wanted as town was not too busy, but enough going on for them and us. The local beach was much nicer than the one in Caleta de Fuste - and the restaurant at the end of the pier does excellent food and sangria. Fado Rock in town was lovely, though we all preferred the Italian as that suited the kids more. We would definitely go back if I wanted another chill out holiday. Thanks Sinead x

"If your looking for a quiet holiday this is the place for you"
Quiet location, villa was clean and the pool safety fence is ideal for familys with young children. The kitchen could do with a new oven the one that is there is not very good.

"Lovely villa in a perfect situation for a quiet relaxing holiday, particularly for golfers."
Lovely villa with great views looking onto the 10th tee and the sea beyond. Close to shops, supermarket and good restaurants. The owner is extremely helpful and amenable to requests.

"Position, position, position the best on the golf course bar none."
The position on the 10th tee and overlooking the 18th green afforded us many hours relaxing by the pool watching golf and chatting to fellow golfing vacationers, we met some great people over the "garden fence" and arranged several golf games in this way, the starter would even come over some mornings with any spare tee times he might have. This was our third stay and our fourth is already booked, good people to deal with offering a fully equiped villa which is also well serviced. Can't speak highly enough.

"Great Villa will lovely outlook"
We stayed at Casa in March 2012 when it was recommended by a friend when we said we were looking to go to Feurtaventura on our holiday. We were planning our final get away before our first baby arrives in June. The Villa, set looking onto a golf course is in a great position with views of the golf course unlike some of the other villa's in the area. You can also see the harbour and the see from the Villa. The villa has a lovely lounge/dinning area with room for 6 people to comfortably eat and relax in the evening. The master bedroom is very large with a well decorated en-suite bathroom with bath/shower. There are a further two bedroom with 2 x single beds in one and a double + single in the other. The kitchen had all the required cutlery, plates etc for a comfortable stay and we even ate in a couple of times and cooked on the BBQ in the garden. The garden was nicely set out with a table out the front for afternoon tea or coffee. The back garden which looked onto the golf course had a reasonable sized pool which even though the weather wasn't very warm (20) it was still nicely warm. The garden had two tables for dinning. The Villa was situated in a golf complex and was about 10-15 walk to the local shopping centre which we walked to everyday for supplies. The shopping centre had lots of shops and the Spar was packed with food with plenty of local and international foods and beers. In general we found the area from food, drink, eating out taxis etc to be very reasonably priced and even commented a number of times how cheap things were.
