Siesta Mar 1, where our apartment is located. There is a large shared swimming pool and children's paddling pool. There is also a children's play area. Close to Siesta Mar 1, there is a large complex with bars, restaurant, a larger pool and water chutes, which our clients can use. The centre of the village is a few minutes walk away and the beach is within 10 minutes walk (down a road or 100 steps).

The apartment offers self-catering accommodation for up to 4 people (although an extra person can be accommodated on a put-up bed for an extra £50 per week).

The accommodation comprises a living/dining area with plenty of comfortable seating plus dining table and chairs. There is a TV/DVD player plus a selection of DVDs and a CD player. There is a free-standing fan for use wherever it is most needed and there are ceiling fans in both bedrooms. A fully equipped kitchen with cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster. You will find a full selection of crockery, cutlery and glasses.

The bathroom has been completely re-plumbed and attractively re-tiled throughout and has a full size bath, incorporating a shower plus a toilet, bidet and hand-basin. There is a large mirror and downlighters ensure there is always plenty of light.

There are 2 double-bedrooms - 1 has 2 single beds and the other has a double bed; both bedrooms have large fitted wardrobes and drawers with a dressing table; a fifth person can be accommodated for a supplement. All of the apartments are provided with a hairdryer, iron, ironing board and safe.

The apartment features 2 verandas. The larger, front one, leads off the living area and has ample space for sunbathing and dining - sunbeds, a patio dining set and a small barbecue are provided. The sun shines on the smaller, rear veranda in the mornings, making it an ideal place for breakfast - we provide a small table and chairs.

The Siesta Mar complex consists of 2 apartment complexes, built close to the centre of the village. Siesta Mar 1, where our apartment is located, has a large shared swimming pool and smaller children's paddling pool; there is also a children's play area.

The Balearic Islands region

Menorca is a small island in the Balearic group, and whilst it is the quietest, a holiday here can be full of fun and activity. Apart from the obvious attraction of the beaches, there are a wide variety of things to do – horse riding, golf, tennis, and even cricket (the Menorca Cricket Club welcome visitors) for the sportsmen/women. Walking, or cycling in the beautiful countryside will appeal to others – the island is criss-crossed with paths and tracks. The landscape is pastoral, rich in flowers and bird-life, and usually green, even in the height of summer.

Then there are the beaches, and the water, and they defy description. Reportedly there are over 100 beaches on the island varying from the 4km long Son Bou, to tiny inlets, big enough for one family. The sea is warm and clean, perfect for swimming and water sports of all kinds. But the magic appeal of this island is its atmosphere of tranquility and of being at peace with itself – a place in which to unwind, relax and be refreshed.

Menorca has much more to offer the tourist – there’s the capital, Mahon, for instance, with its narrow streets and Georgian houses. The town sits impressively above the largest harbour in the Mediterranean – a wonderful place for an evening stroll, and perhaps a drink or meal in one of the many bars and restaurants.

For the shopper, Menorca is renowned for its leather shoes and its fashion jewelery and, of course, for its cheese and ice cream.

Cala'n Porter

One of the oldest established resorts on the island, Cala en Porter is truly a family destination. The village is situated on the south coast, 15 minutes from the capital, and the airport. The setting for the village is superb – it rests above a pretty cove, with a lovely beach, and a green valley at its head.

The sand is soft and clean, and the water, protected by the cliff sides, is shallow and warm. In the village itself, there are a wide variety of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes and every pocket. Many of the bars provide entertainment, for those who want it. At the very tip of the village, built into caves overlooking the sea, is the famous nightclub – the Covas D’en Xoroi. Even so, the village is remarkably quiet. There are supermarkets and other shops to provide for everyday needs, as well as souvenirs of your holiday.

“perfect location, friendly helpful owners, very clean, great balconies”

We stayed here for 4 nights in July, very handy apartment for the local beach, restaurants and shops and within easy walking distance to the Caves Xoroi. Clean apartment with everything you could need for a beach holiday. Gardens and grounds all well kept, pool nice for morning or evening swim.Owners on hand and friendly with lots of local info as they live here. We would stay again if we were going to cala n porter for a long weekend trip
