Attractive, well-equipped, 2 bed, 2 bath comfortable self-catering property in Es Forti area of Cala Egos in Cala d'Or, Mallorca. Lovely gardens front and rear and truly beautiful sea views. You can enjoy the sun all day long. Steps into the sea are 2 minutes from the front door. There is access to a private roof terrace and plenty of room to barbeque in the rear courtyard garden. The house has aircon (heating and cooling), Freesat TV, iPod dock and free WiFi. It is only 5 minutes walk to the nearest beach and to Cala Egos centre with all its shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants. A car is not essential, but great for seeing the lovely and diverse island of Mallorca.
The house is looked after all year round by a local housekeeper who speaks German, Spanish and English. At busy times of the year arrival time is from 4 pm and departure time is by 10 am. At quieter times, or when it is not a change-over day, timings can be more flexible and there is a keysafe system to allow for 24 hour access.
Cala Egos is the family friendly, smaller and slightly quieter neighbour of Cala d'Or and is a 5 minute drive away. Cala d'Or itself is not a rowdy resort, with evening entertainment being based in the hotels, restaurants and bars that are located in the pedestrianised part of the town. The sophisticated and cosmopolitan marina provides restaurants for all budgets and the opportunity to relax and watch luxurious yachts and motor boats coming and going out of the harbour. Taxis between the two towns are relatively inexpensive and there is also a tourist "train" that runs regularly. The other neighbouring marina at Porto Petro (again a 5 minute drive) has retained its small town feel with authentic Mallorquin and seafood restaurants overlooking this beautiful natural harbour in a more understated manner.
There really is something for everyone in Mallorca. It's beauty and diversity draws international visitors back year after year.

The Balearic Islands region
Mallorca is the Largest of the Balearic Islands. It has a wonderful climate - hot summers and mild winters - and a relaxed, cosmopolitan feel. The South-East coast has plenty of places to visit and explore. There are regular markets in Santanyi, Felanitx and Campos. There are the spectacular Caves of Drach at Porto Cristo and the wonderful views at The Monastery of San Salvador near Felanitx. The picture postcard fishing village of Cala Figuera is a great place for a leisurely lunch. The South-East also boasts many beautiful sandy beaches, the longest of which is Es Trenc. The capital, Palma, is only about 45 mins by car and it is a bustling commercial, historic and cultural city with so much to see and do. The dramatic, mountainous west coast is also well worth a visit, especially the lovely towns of Deia, Valldemossa and Soller.
Cala d'Or is a busy town with lots of shops and places to eat and drink and it is very family friendly. The marina is well worth a visit and has many expensive yachts and boats moored there. There are also charter boats for excursions and fishing and the large glass bottom boats that make regular daily trips to the areas best beaches. There is a municipal pool and tennis courts on the main road between Cala d'Or and Cala Egos. Can Su Lac is in an area called Es Forti and is a 5-10 min drive from Cala d'Or. Es Forti is named after it's coastal fort which offers spectacular views of both coastline and hills. Whilst a quiet, mainly residential area, it is only a few minutes walk from sandy Es Pou beach and the gift shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants of Cala Egos. All 3 areas are connected by a regular tourist train service. There are plenty of places to hire bikes from (you will see many cyclists on the island) and golf courses are a short drive away (Vall d'Or Golf is about a 15 minute drive away, just passed S'Horta). The nearby fishing town of Porto Petro is also a great place to visit and people watch and it has a multilingual dive school. The area also boasts a natural park (Parc naturel de Mondrago) which has nature walks, picnic ares, horse riding and 2 beautiful beaches with plenty of facilities.
