Stunning townhouse in unspoilt Caimari, at the foot of the Unesco protected Tramuntana Mountains also overlooking the fabled farmlands of Central Mallorca The house is decorated to a very high standard, and as part of the makeover, was given a large roof terrace.Each room is decorated carefully and the art and furniture has been collected over many years and on many travels but with the essence,spirit and colour of the island always prominent. Central Mallorca is otherwise the "quiet part", which for us is the attraction, but is at the same time close to the excellent beaches of the north, the countless golf courses, top restaurants as well as the magnificent capital of Palma. In Caimari, you wake up to the sound of sheep gracing on the hillside around the village, and at night, we go to the local bars, where distrust of politicians or the demise of the local football team, Real Mallorca, are the eternal topics du jour. Most of the villagers live of the land and the area is famous for its olive production, as well as citrus farming and sheep raising. For cyclists, the area is unbeatable, with paved tracks in all direction and of all difficulties. You can climb the mountain starting right outside the house or ride to the beach through the valley picking up the scent and the views of the stunning landscape as you ride on sparsely populated roads. We love this part of the island where time is almost standing still despite the gradual inflow of tourists. The main attraction,the Unesco heritage Tramuntana Mountains, is maintained and nurtured in a very caring and protective spirit. Adding to this, anyone with an interest in food and wine,will take much pleasure from the vineyards of the area and the abundance of local fruit,veg,fish and meat on offer in nearby markets (Inca has the largest market on the island every Thursday).
