Glan Gwna (Glan Goona) is in a central location on the Coast of North Wales and ideal for access to all of Snowdonia for outdoor sports enthusiasts. Suitable for groups of friends, couples and families in a non commercial setting.
This cosy chalet is Welsh Tourist board 3* listed and all on one level with easy accessibility form the parking space to the rear of the chalet. There is an enclosed patio making it safe for small children and small dog netting too. It has a views across the small fishing lake at the established tranquil upper section of the site. It has a lovely south facing position and has sunshine all day. It is tastefully decorated to a high standard with lots of storage space. All chalets and cabins are privately owned in the park.
The chalet is dog friendly at no extra cost for example two dogs. Don't forget their beds! Minimum two night stay.
No smoking in the chalet for the benefit of other guests.
The river Seiont runs through the wooded grounds from Llanberis to Caernarfon and is accessible to holidaymakers. Fishing licences are needed and day passes for the two fishing ponds as well as the river are also available from reception. There is an outdoor heated swimming pool open in the summer only (end may to mid September).
The Bar and terrace with wi-fi and good food overlooks the pool and has been renovated in early Spring 2014. A Launderette, Beauty salon, small Take-away and shop are located near reception. Ther is mobile signal at teh chalet but connection to teh internet is by your owm tethering.
Good local bus service outside the park on the Bedgellert road in Ceathro.
The nearest town of Caernarfon has interesting restaurants within the town walls, hidden taverns in the narrow streets. The beautiful castle has seasonal events. In Caernarfon the new marina complex with restaurants and a cinema is now open . There are also major supermarkets and excellent local produce in the small shops and quaint streets to stroll along. The new Welsh Highland steam train railway near Caernarfon castle is now open.
The award winning sandy beach at Dinas Dinlle is 8 miles, Llanberis and Mount Snowdon, boat trips on the lakes and the amazing free National Slate Museum are also to be found nearby. Local Karting and Tree Top Adventure activities including the longest zip wire in Europe to keep those adventure junkies happy.
A great location for Anglesey, Menai and the Conwy and Llandudno attractions within 30 minutes drive to the North. Porthmadog, Pwlhelli and the astounding Llyn peninsula are within a easy drive to the south. Lots of activity centres for families and outdoor enthusiasts on land or water. You will feel like you are visiting ' Wales' as the area has the highest number of Welsh speakers in the UK.
The area benefits from very good weather being to the West of Snowdonia and benefits form the effects of the UK gulfstream with evidence of Anglesey Palms.
