“A wonderful holiday experience for us all!”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2013

Forest Syde cottage totally exceeded our expectations of what a holiday cottage should be. We have never stayed in such a well equipped cottage. The stair gate, highchair, travel cot and washing machine were really appreciated as we have a toddler. Our four year old loved exploring the cottage and garden. The enclosed back garden was beautiful for us all to enjoy, with a summer house and decked area. The fridge was stocked with essentials on our arrival and we had everything we needed to make our holiday perfect. It was a home away from home. The sky tv and wifi were nice for relaxing in the evenings when the kids were in bed after a busy day It was in a perfect location for us to do all we had planned and the wonderful weather was an added bonus! It is a lovely cottage for families with children and i hope many more families enjoy it as much as we all did.

“A gorgeous cottage in a brilliant location.”

We have just returned from a wonderful four day stay at Forest Syde. I travelled with my four children aged from 9 months to 11 years and we all had a fabulous time here. The cottage was warm and welcoming with all mod cons and facilities. The bathroom in particular was a hit with its amazing drench shower. The enclosed garden was a big bonus for all the children, and me! The cottage is ideally located for exploring the New Forest and Peppa Pig World (Paulton's Park). That was the main reason for our break and being only three miles away certainly made the day easier. Catherine was there to welcome us and show us around, and left us with the keys and some much needed goodies. I would recommend a stay here to anybody, you won't be disappointed. Thank you Catherine x

“Fantastic cottage”

Reviewed 7 Apr 2013

The cottage had everything needed and was furnished to a very high standard. When we arrived the owner gave us a warm welcome and the open fire was most appreciated as it was very cold out! The cottage was very warm and cosy which was fab as it was an extremely cold week that we stayed, we even had snow despite it being April! The cottage was very well located with lots to do without having to drive very far, which was very handy as we had a little two year old to entertain! We had a fabulous week despite the freezing temperatures and I would highly recommend the cottage even to those with little ones.

“Beautiful, Homely Cottage”

Reviewed 8 Jan 2013

Me and my family (4 adults and 1 baby) stayed at Forest Syde Cottage for Christmas 2012. It was wonderful. It was well presented with all mod cons yet had the feel of a traditional cottage. We loved having the log fire and had it on quite often. We were able to cook a full Christmas dinner in the kitchen which had most things that you need. The house was clean and tidy and really homely. When we arrived Catherine met us there and the log fire was roaring which was fab after our long drive and she had even put up a Christmas tree! We had access to the full sports and movie channels which was great over Christmas. The beds were really comfortable as well. The pubs are a stones throw away which was handy. Southampton town centre was only 15 mins drive so handy for shopping. Catherine was delightful and so helpful when we had any questions. I would completely recommend this house to families and couples. Thanks Catherine for a wonderful stay.

“Very welcome break!!!”

This was our only holiday this year so there was a lot riding on it! Catherine as the host and the house fully delivered. We loved this property. The easy access to the motorway was essential to meet the demands of young children to be entertained. Having previously stayed at New Milton in holiday lodges the house was like a home from home. Catherine was very accomodating for our young children providing high chair etc making our life much easier. The garden and outside area were great for the kids to run about and let off steam. My daughter so enjoyed the log fire that I may have to build one at home. We enjoyed our stay so much that we will book again for next year.

“Beautiful modern/traditional cottage with a wonderful owner”

Reviewed 9 Sep 2012

Though it was a little difficult to find at first this place was an absolute dream. The owner met us upon arrival to show us around and we were stunned at how lovely the property and owner were. It has a proper old cottage feel even with an awesome open log fire but all the modern appliances and useful features you'd want, including wifi and dishwasher. The grounds are gorgeous with a large garden and summerhouse area outside and there are some lovely pubs in the area too.

Hi Ben, thank you very much for the charming review, really pleased but have picked up that I need to make the Cottage name stand out will get a sign up at the house Thanks again. Catherine

“Fantastic base for Activity based Holiday in the New Forest”

Reviewed 12 Aug 2012

We stayed in the cottage during the London Olympics 2012, although that was not really intentionally :-). The cottage was spot on with everything that you need to make it home away from home. It had 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a beautiful dining room, living room, reception room, utility room and kitchen with all mod-cons... All was in perfect condition, beautifully presented and you could tell it had just been redecorated as the carpets up the stairs still had that new smell :-). We had the benefit of wifi through the property and garden as well as full blown SKY+ HD including the premium sport and movie channels! It has a huge, beautifully matured, secured garden to the rear with full sunshine all day with decking and big sunhouse (which my girls used as a dance studio). It's ideal location for getting out and about means that there is road noise, but you don't hear that inside the cottage. A real cosy place to rest after a fun packed day. For us it was a fantastic base as we have 3 kids (6, 4, 1) and were going to have an activity based holiday in the surrounding area of the New Forest. Loved and recommend: Lego Land, Paultons Park/Peppa Pig World, Lyndhurst, Lymington, Bournemouth (!), Christchurch, Hurst Castle, Furzey Gardens and many country parks including of course the New Forest (with its WILD PONIES = stunning) itself. The pub just up the road from the cottage serves great food, but is very expensive, nice for a treat (£91 for 2 adults and 3 kids of which one is a baby). All in all we had a perfect time and took 2,300 photo's in two weeks! Thanks very much to our host who could not have done any more for us to make us feel welcome and at ease. The garden and board games, and welcome pack (bread, milk, chocolates and bottle of wine, etc) was a lovely touch!

“Beautiful cottage-a home away from home”

Reviewed 11 Jun 2012

What a lovely cottage, everything provided for us, beautifully decorated & presented. The cottage is extremely well located for all local attractions and a good selection of local amenities close by in walking distance. The garden is stunning with a lovely decked area & sunhouse, it's all one level & secure so great for young children. Despite the weather we had a great time at Forest Syde & would return without hesitation.
