The kitchen is fully equipped for your stay including a large fridge and freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, along with all you need to dine for up to 12 guests.Internet access is free of charge and an essential for most guests now in order to keep in touch with those left at home or the office!

Villa Lucia is set behind private gates that serve Villa Lucia and the villa above (used occasionally when the owners are in residence). Villa Lucia provides secure private off-road parking for up to 4 cars. The surrounding gardens are for the exclusive use of guests to Villa Lucia and a wonderful spot for lunch 'al fresco'. There are several sun loungers and a table and chairs for outdoor dining too. Should you wish to hold your wedding or special event at Lucia we would suggest hiring Villa Luca (our neighbouring villa too) that provides additional accommodation and additional private gardens suitable for outside functions.
Location description from owner
The Lake Como region
Como's untouched beauty has been a hot topic in travel guides and glossy magazines throughout the world, especially since George Clooney's much publicised purchase of Villa Oleandra in the town of Laglio. Other celebrity neighbours include Donna Versace and Michael Schumacher. But with its beauty and endless activities for all the family, it is an all year round destination for those that love the finer things in life!
Getting to Lake Como is simple. A range of airlines fly daily including British Airways, BMI Baby, Alitalia and Easyjet, to Milan's two airports; Malpensa International Airport, to the northwest, is 40 miles from Como and has a bus service to the town of Como. The smaller Linate Airport to the east serves flights from Europe and within Italy and is connected to Milan by bus service.
Lake Como lies on the Milan to Switzerland train line. The train stops in the town of Como, where there is a tourist office in Piazza Cavour. The Ferrovia Nord Milano, a small train line that leaves Como from via Manzoni, runs only between Como and Milan.
Ferries link the major villages and towns of Lake Como, providing both a good form of public transportation and a great way to sight-see from the lake. There is also a bus system to villages around the lake.
Fancy a real glamorous treat? Why not let us organise a chaffeur driven experience from the airport to your own private villa on Como. Sports cars more your thing, or how about a speed boat? We can get you out and about in style!
Cadenabbia di Griante
Villa Lucia sits on the western shore of Lake Como ideally located to reach all the major towns on the lake such as Bellagio, Menaggio, Tremezzo, Laglio (famed now as the home to George Clooney) and Como itself.
Just a short walk is the Lido di Cadenabbia with its beautiful swimming pool, bar & restaurant. Also just 100m from the villa is the Cadenabbia ferry port which provides access to all major towns on the lake for both cars and passengers, with Tremezzo and Villa Carlotta ports also within walking distance.
There are some fabulous pavement cafes, restaurants and typical Italian bars a walk away from the villa to cater for breakfast, lunch and dinner and anything in between! A must is dinner at our favourite - Al Veluu which is said to be one of the best restaurants in Europe and a favourite with many of the rich and famous! There are also various small shops in the village of Cadenabbia and neighbouring Tremezzo, a small grocer who sells fresh bread, milk, fruit and veg and your daily conveniences is ideal during your stay. There is a much larger supermarket in nearby town Lenno or Bennetts superstore in Como sells everything you need and more should you want to stock up at the beginning of your holiday.
There is an endless list of places to visit when on Lake Como, our favourites include the beautiful botanical gardens of Villa Carlotta just a short walk from Villa Lucia and is said to have over 500 species of plants and flowers, the bustling town of Bellagio (said to be one of the most beautiful towns in Europe) where you can enjoy a gelato from one of the many stalls or sip a glass of champagne at the world famous Villa Serbelloni.
Activities abound on the lake; during the summer Como comes alive with the lake buzzing with sail boats and speedier alternatives! Swimmers and divers also enjoy the lake during the summer. Just a short walk from Villa Lucia, is the recently opened Cadenabbia lido, for those who enjoy the pool and a nice cool drink whilst the kids play! Do take a couple of the lake excursions - a great way to explore Como it is also the only way to truly appreciate this area and the glamorous lakeside villas that adorn its coastline.
Wine tasting is of course a necessity in the local Cantina Follie in Tremezzo, sailing and wonderful boat excursions around the lake are also a great way to explore.
Golf: Menaggio & Cadenabbia Golf Course is located nearby as is said to marvel the best of golf players. This fantastic 18 hole, 5442m, par 70 course is one of the most ancient golf courses in Europe, with steep inclines, sweeping fairways and spectacular views en route. Open from March to November, is certainly one to add to your list.
The world famous Villa D'Este also offers an 18 hole course and is said to be the most varied and difficult of the European par 69 courses, along with one of the most magnificent viewpoints on Lake Como itself
The central lake area is famous for some of the most elegant villas and gardens that are open for all to discover and marvel at. Some of our favorites include Villa Carlotta just a short walk from Villa Lucia, the 17th Century Villa Serbelloni across the waters in Bellagio and Villa Balbianello made famous by Star Wars and James Bond this little paradise is only accessible by boat.

“Living the life of a celebrity”
We stayed at Villa Lucia Estate (which includes Villa Luca next door) for a week, whilst getting married on the Lake. It's a beautiful villa, classically furnished to an extremely high standard, with gorgeous views across the lake. To wake up in the master bedroom to those views across the lake to Bellagio is something I'll never forget, and no one wanted to leave on the last day. We didn't arrive until around 7pm, but were met by Karen who showed us all round the Villas, and also left us welcome baskets of basics, including bottles of wine to sip on the terrace whilst admiring the view that evening.
It was a wonderful few days wasn't it and so pleased you all fell in love with the place! I think an anniversary stay is in order! Ciao xx
“Amazing Villa, beautifully furnished in a heavenly place”
Villa Lucia is a classical Italian Villa furnished in classical style, just as in the pictures. Lake views from the balconies were sublime. Feels exceptionally spacious - some rooms downstairs we hardly used. It really couldn't be in a better place to explore Lake Como. It's a very short walk from the ferry which goes everywhere around the beautiful lake. Be warned that like most villas, there is a road between the villa and the lake but its not too noisy, particularly at night. We crossed it and swam in the lake every morning (steps down) and also took canoes and canoed across to Bellagio. The beautiful Villa Carlotto is a stroll anti clockwise, as is the smartest hotel on the lake where we enjoyed a few pre supper cocktails. The only gripe (and it certainly didn't spoil the holiday) is that the garden in the photo was next door's - we only had a tiny patch of grass to sit on next to the drive which goes up the hill to behind the villa where some quite frankly rather rude people live!
“A gorgeous, spacious villa, with amazing gardens, spectacular views and a fantastic location.”
The villa was the most beautiful surprise. It was such an easy and comfortable place to relax in for a week, we didn't want to leave. The decor was lovely and it was spotlessly clean it has a wonderful atmosphere. There was a CD player that we played Pavarotti on every morning for breakfast. The views from house were spectacular and you can lay in bed and see the stars and lights across the lake. The gardens are beautifully maintained and elegant with lots of relaxation areas. All the crockery was lovely and matching with nice wine glasses. We had a selection of wines available if we wanted to buy them, and the essential basic supplies in the kitchen were there on arrival. The location is fantastic, nerby Villa Carlotta and in between 2 ferry stops. A small local minimart, bars and restaurants/cafes all within walking distance. We were there in the middle of September with very few tourists, which was a lovely time of year. It even snowed on the mountains one night. A really wonderful and special place to stay. Only thing missing was a clothes washing machine. I was reluctant to write this review only because I didn't want others to find out about it. Have already had other friends making bookings. You will not be disappointed.
