Description

Thorneycroft Shepherds Hut offers short stay holidays as an idyllic getaway to the peace and quiet of the country side. It is situated in a quiet corner of our yard with uninterrupted views down our fields in the picturesque village of Kettleshulme, nestled on the edge of the Peak District. Great for exploring, a mile up the road is Goyt Valley and Windgather rocks ideal for walkers, climbers, cyclists and horse riders. In the village there is a local pub that serves excellent food; booking recommended. Over the hill is the village of Disley where the Grit Stone Trail begins and passes through Lyme Park on its way to Kidsgrove. Whether you choose to have a good ol' cuppa when you arrive or a glass of something stronger you will feel perfectly comfortable settling in with our countryfied welcome pack.

Thorneycroft shepherds hut accommodates a cosy double bed with log burner and small kitchenette. Kettle, toaster, fridge, belfast sink and a two ring hob is all provided with a fold down table. Under bed storage and guest wifi available. Next door to the shepherds hut is a small shed with chemical toilet. Between scheduled hours there will also be use of a shower room attached to the main house with hand basin, toilet, shower and fresh towels.

There is parking next to the shepherds hut and lock up for any bikes . Also there is space for tent if you wish, see the rates section for prices.

“Fantastic short break”

Reviewed 4 Sep 2017

Location is ideal for picturesque walking and very close to a lovely pub serving fantastic food. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The Shepherds Hut was clean and tidy and the log burner was great. We had a great time and would definitely return in the future.

“Excellent mini breaj”

We stayed at the Shepards hut for two nights with our dog. The hut is fab! Very clean and has everything you need utensils, pans etc. We BBQ'd on both nights however there are a few pubs close by. The shower room was very clean and the hamper we received on arrival was lovely! Would definitely stay again we loved it! Thanks again Joanne! Xx

A thoroughly lovely shepherds hut and a very friendly and warm owner. We didn't want for anything and look forward to visiting again in the near future.

“Loved it”

Reviewed 26 Jul 2016

Had a fab 2 night peaceful break in this fab little hut. Small but a tardis with more space than you think possible. The hamper is a lovely touch as a starter point and we cooked on the little 2 burner and sat outside and ate our meal looking over the fields. It was the hottest night of the year whilst we were there and they lent us a fan which was great. It was great couple of days. Only thing I could think that would improve might be a little outside fire to sit round when it's a bit chilly. Hope to go back
