A clean and well equipped house close to all local facilities

Prices are very competitive per person per night compared to local bed and breakfast but with the freedom of your own house.

Dharl House is a traditional Victorian 4 bedroom three storey house which makes a homely holiday home. A great central location only a few minutes stroll to Buxton Opera House and the Stunning Pavilion Gardens. Everything you need on your door step from walking, rock climbing, cycling, canoeing , horse riding and all the outdoor pursuits the Peak District National park offers to local activities including Go Ape to an underground world at Poole's Cavern and Alton Towers. You will be spoilt for choice in terms of places to eat or drink from Italian,Mexican, Indian, Thai to Good hearty pub food. There are some lovely places to enjoy a high tea and cakes or enjoy the local spring water or locally brewed Buxton beers.

Buxton has a fascinating history and some fantastic local buildings including the crescent and the Devonshire Dome which is now part of the University of Derby. A trip on the Victorian tram is a good way to hear some of the local tales you catch it by the Opera House. Have a look on whats on before you book you may be surprised at who comes to do their shows at Buxton. The town also has a growing festival scene from literary,comedy, food, children's and outdoor. There is a great cycling festival in the local town of Bakewell in June. IF you don't take part it's worth a visit.

There is no having to fold down any sofa beds or sleeping in the lounge as the house Sleeps 7 comfortably in 4 separate bedrooms with 2 double beds, 1 bunk bed and a 1 single bed. There is a Tv/DVD player in the bunk bed room, toys, books and a selection of DVDs to keep the children entertained for an hour or two. All duvets are a feather mix and a minimum of 15 tog to ensure a cosy nights sleep.

We have a lovely hand made Farmhouse kitchen with original stone flagged floor and marble worktops. You will be able to enjoy a well stocked kitchen with plenty of crockery, glasses, pans and serving dishes if you all want to eat in together. We have some children's crockery too. There is a large farmhouse table in the kitchen with 6 dining chairs, There are 2 extra chairs in the pantry and toddlers high chair.If you get in the bake off mood you will find a food mixer and cake tins in the pantry.

If you want someone else to do the cooking and are eating out we have a iron and ironing board and a hair dryer available. The house file in the kitchen will give you a few suggestions on where to eat including children and disabled friendly. We have left some ideas for local walks from a short circular walk round town to more adventurous day walks. There is a local map you can use. Other information on local attractions is also available to browse.

The main bathroom has a full size bath to soak away any aches and pains. We also have 2 showers and 2 toilets one on the top floor and one in the main bathroom.

You can discuss your days adventures in the front room with comfy seating. There is a TV and separate DVD player with Freeview and Internet access.

There is a shed in the garden which can be used for storing your bikes, canoes or climbing gear, There is an outside tap if you need to wash your bike down for the next day. We have provided a few storage boxes for your walking boots or wellies. There is a large under stairs pantry with plenty of coat pegs for you all.

For when the days are warmer we have weber BBq for you to try your cooking skills on. There is a small back yard but space for a small patio table and a couple of chairs.

If you want a little more space we are just a very short hop to Pavilion gardens.

If you are coming by car there is plenty of street parking by the house so you can park up and enjoy the town on foot. If you are coming by train it is a short walk up the hill. The buses for Manchester and London stop on the Market Place around the corner. You can catch a wide range of buses which take you around the Peak District from here too.

Getting around

Buxton train station is about a 10 min walk from the house. You can catch local train services which is great if you want to do a range of local walks or bike rides as well as links to manchester main train services. There is a great local bus service where you can explore the peaks buses run from the markey place just round the corner to the house. you can also catch a service to Manchester airport from there.

This is our third new year spent in Buxton and was fully enjoyable having Dall house as a base. The house is well appointed and covered all our needs, On arrival the house was clean and warm

Lovely family house in a good location within walking distance of Buxton town centre and the station. Very well equipped with good family space and large bedrooms. House was very clean and exactly as described. Communication with Alison was excellent, nothing was too much trouble.
