Free Wifi, Pool table with lots of decking and cushioned comfortable out door furniture. Spacious Elk River cabin sits on 40 acres of mountain side with over 2000 feet of river frontage. Great for hikers, fisherman and families seeking adventure. Mtn & River Views of Cherokee National Forest The Elk River is one of America's cleanest waterways and feeds directly into Watauga lake just down the street from this cabin, near the local marina. The Setting is heavily wooded and no nearby neighbors. Hear the peaceful waters flow from either level of decking. This log home is just over 3000 sq ft, and three stories. Large outdoor firepit with kids jungle gym to climb on and back yard area great for family gatherings. Large outdoor grill on deck, hard wired in so you never run out of propane. Large game room that features another living area, flat screen (DTV), blue ray, stone fire place/gas logs & pool table in a separate game room down stairs. Up stairs you have the main living area with another stone fire place/gas logs, leather sofa. love seat and over sized chair. The open living room area offers soaring ceiling, lots of glass adjacent to dining area (table sits 8) with bar stools at the kitchen island. Kitchen offers all the appliances from home (dishwasher, stove, refrigerator, coffee maker, blender, toaster, crock pot, microwave, wine opener) granite island and custom cabinets. You'll find a large fridge here and an extra one downstairs just off the game room. With a large gas grill on deck over looking the river, Grilling utensils and bake ware make cooking a pleasure indoors or out. Large laundry room with full size washer and dryer. Two stone fire places total in this 3 story home with walls of glass, great views and privacy. Heavily wooded on 40 areas. Flat screen LCD TV over both fire places & two Tv's in 2 of the bedrooms. All linens, towels, bedding, dishes, paper products and utensils provided.Elk River cabin offers 3 bedrooms Sleeps 6 comfortably on top of the line, new memory foam mattresses. Know you are welcome to bring extra's (up to ten) guests are permitted on the property, just be sure to bring blow up mattress for any extra's. There are (2) fold out twin size beds great for kids. This three story custom log home was constructed built summer 2008, lots of decking overlooking the Elk River. Three bedrooms total. King, King, Queen memory foam mattress plus two dorm size fold out beds guests are welcome to use or bring blow up mattress for additional guests. We allow up to ten guests in our home. Jacuzzi bath tub in the master.Two additional bedrooms up stairs share a full size bath and a half bath on main, kitchen living area level and another full bath down stairs off the master and game room. Leather sofa's in front of each stone fire places. Lake Access at the near by local marina, snow ski Ski Beech, Sugar Mtn, Hawks Nest or Appalachian Mtn. Easy road access to hwy 321. 30 mins to Boone NC. Great for adventurous families looking to fish, hike, play on the river & get away from it all. Nearby towns like Boone NC or Elizabethan Tn are just a 30 min ride. Nearest gas station/beer run is less than five mins.

Getting around

All guests are provided with a detailed welcome package that tells you where everything is from gas to nearest beer run (5 mins) to towns with unique dinning and live entertainment (30 mins) and of course the usual hiking trails, boat rentals just down the street at the local marina's are just a 10 minute drive. Guests will need transportation during their stay. Rent one at the airport or drive your own. Paved all the way to your back door.

Interaction with guest

Yes, all guests are provided with local contacts. Our housekeeper is only a five minute drive and happy to help guests with reasonable requests. Our maintenance man is the general contractor who built this cabin and is very familiar with its mechanic's. If an accident occurs during your stay please don't hesitate to call maintenance or housekeeping. We need to know asap so we can get it fixed before the next guest.
