Location description from owner

The Scotland region

Fife region
Fife: the royal burgh, famous for its history, fishing villages, and golf courses. With Falkland Palace, St Andrews Abbey and Dunfermline Abbey, Fife has a wealth of history to discover. The East Neuk of Fife, with its seaside and fishing villages, including Aberdour, Kinghorn, Leven, Elie, Pittenweem, Anstruther, Crail and St Andrews are fascinating to explore. Most have sandy beaches or houses with pantile roofs or old harbours and are a tourist's delight. St Andrews is renowned as “the home of golf” and a trip to visit the Old Course is a must, or choose from one of forty-six courses in this county.

Burntisland

The Burntisland area
The home of the Scottish royals and renowned for championship golf courses, the Kingdom of Fife is a beautiful rural retreat. From impressive historic ruins to bustling seaside towns and a scenic coastline, Fife has much to offer. The rugged cliffs are home to some magnificent and varied wildlife providing a haven for ramblers and wildlife enthusiasts. Some local highlights include: Deep Sea World; Falkland Palace; Dunfermline Abbey; Knockhill kart and Formula 3 racing; Aberdour Castle; Edinburgh; Edinburgh Castle; Fishing at Loch Leven. Burntisland has a particularly scenic golf course on the hillside looking over the bay to Arthur’s Seat. Aberdour and Kinghorn golf courses are all within two miles. The Beacon Leisure Centre with swimming pool, flumes and wave machine is next door.

“The house was ideally positioned with great views across the Firth of Forth to Edinburgh”

Reviewed 6 Sep 2016

The house was well equipped for our extended family, grandparents. parents and 3 grandsons. Wonderful views, we were lucky to be there at the time of the Edinburgh tattoo and could watch the fireworks every night. The beach was close and the big plus for the children was the sports centre complete with pool and flumes. The is easy access by train and the Fife coast is great for visits. I would recommend this house to my friends as a holiday home
