Location description from owner

The England region

Somerset lies to the south of the City of Bristol in the South West of England; it has an extensive coast line and includes a wide variety of scenery including the Mendip Hills, the Quantocks and the Somerset levels. Pilton is the home of the world famous Glastonbury Festival and Bridgwater is the home of Carnival in Britain and takes place during November. Yeovilton has the Fleet Air Arm Museum and in the same area, is the Haynes Motor Museum. The region is well renowned for its production of cider and Somerset Brandy. The Shepton Mallett Showground is the site of the Bath & West show in May/June and the whole area offers a wealth of interesting places.

Burnham-On-Sea

This is an historic area, close to several battlefields, including Sedgemoor, the site of the last battle on English soil. Wells, the smallest city in England has a beautiful cathedral and Bishop's Palace and there is a wealth of charming villages. Cheddar Gorge and caves as well as those at Wookey Hole add a dimension to visits. The sea is close by with the seaside resorts of Burnham on Sea, Clevedon and Weston super Mare as well as lovely beaches at Brean, Uphill and Sand Bay. The new pier at Weston super Mare is well worth visiting.

There is plenty to do in the area including excellent golf courses, animal parks, water parks as well as bird watching on the Somerset levels, walks, cycling, vineyards and so much more.

“Fantastic in every respect”

Reviewed 8 Sep 2015

I rented Rossholme Country House for my 30th birthday for a weekend with friends. The house itself was enormous and met our every need. In particular the kitchen impressed as it was superbly kitted out with every conceivable utensil, pot and pan you could need. Judy and her team were extremely helpful on arrival and friendly on departure. Whilst there they are very unobtrusive but make themselves available when needed. Aside from the house itself, the surrounding countryside is beautiful with plenty of walks (again the owners were great in recommending some). It's also ideally located for trips to Cheddar Gorge and Weston Super Mere. In summary it was a great experience and i wouldn't hesitate for a second in recommending it to anyone.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. It is greatly appreciated; we enjoyed having you here and you would be welcome back any time.
