Villa St Elisabeth faces south with a magnificent view, across a vast and spectacular private valley planted with truffle oaks, yet it is only two minutes from the village of Buoux in the Luberon National Park.
Seemingly miles from anywhere with its wide-open spaces, tranquility and wildlife, this lovely stone house is equidistant between the market town of Apt and the medieval and exquisite town of Lourmarin with its galleries and restaurants.
The surrounding countryside is very well known for rock climbing and hiking and with a fabulous old Chateau and an extraordinary medieval fort nearby, the area is also a painter and photographers’ delight.
Nestled on 120 acres of land with lavender fields, truffle oaks and natural bush land, Villa St Elisabeth is close what one imagines in the picture books of Provence.
It is a delightful two story stone house with sage green shutters and picture windows and doors framing beautiful views.
Inside the house are thick stone walls, tiled floors and exposed beams of traditional Provencal architecture.
Because of its position, light floods the house from sunrise to sunset.
There is also a pretty pool set away from the main house and a charming summer house with a guest room. Both also have marvelous views.

The centre point of the house is the large, open plan, living area. As well as a fireplace, there is a sofa, CD player and dining facilities for the occupants. Like the rest of the villa, it is elegantly furnished and provides plenty of space for larger groups.
The kitchen is very well equipped, with everything that you're likely to need, including: an oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, iron and dishwasher.
There are a total of five bedrooms at this property, although one is located in the summer house (please see the details below) The first bedroom is located on the ground floor and has a queen-sized bed and ensuite shower room, with separate toilet. Moving upstairs, there are three more bedrooms, one of which has a king-size bed, with ensuite shower room and toilet. The other two rooms share an ensuite bathroom – one room has a queen-sized bed and the other has twin beds. The final bedroom, located in the summer house, has twin beds. All double beds can easily be converted to twin beds.
The summer house is a self-contained flat in itself. There's a twin bedroom, along with a shower room, large sitting room facing the pool and a kitchenette, containing a fridge, sink and bar. There is an additional charge if you wish to use the Summer house between October and May, however it is included in the price from June to September.
There are a total of four bathrooms in this property, all of which are attached to a bedroom, (each room has access to a bathroom). There is a shower room with separate WC located on the ground floor, and a shower room and bathroom located on the next floor up. Finally, there's a shower room with toilet in the summer house.

If you visit during the summer months, you're likely to be spending most of your time outside in the glorious sunshine. To allow you to make the most of the weather, there is a shaded terrace, along with garden furniture and a BBQ, permitting you to make the most of those long evenings. The property itself is located within 120ha of truffle oak woodland and lavender fields, providing a brilliant sense of space and relaxation.
The swimming pool, (11.5m x 5m and ranging from 0.5m to 2.20m deep), is ideal for a quick dip during the day. It is positioned just 25 metres from the house, and catches sun all day long. It's also protected by an alarm, to prevent toddlers and small children putting themselves in danger. It is open and operational from the Mid may to end of October.

The Luberon region
There are some excellent restaurants in the area and inparticular, in Buoux, the Auberge de la Loube.
If you like the idea of a visit to the coast, in one day you can easily go to the coast, take a swim in the warm waters of the Mediterranean and return in the early evening.
The scenery around this part of the Luberon is stunning. There are views in all directions and the property is ideally placed for some marvelous countryside walks.
There are many Regional summer festivities: Theater in Avignon, Opera in Aix and Orange, Jazz festival in La Roque d’Antheron and many antique fairs and flea markets.
There is Tennis available in Apt or Bonnieux, horseback riding in Apt, mountain bikes for rent in Bonnieux.
