Description

Villa Galardini is a spacious 3 bedroom, 2-1/2 bath apartment in a "casale" or restored farmhouse dating back to the 19th century in the heart of Tuscany. It overlooks fields, vineyards and forests of an unspoiled valley of the Ombrone river with farmhouses, a castle and Montalcino in front. Besides still being a small working farm, with vineyard, olive trees and large vegetable gardens, it provided local residents bread from its attached brick bread/pizza oven that still functions today. With beautiful views surrounding this small artisanal farm, The Villa offers a perfect location as a base for day trips to Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Pienza, Abbazia di Monte Oliveto Maggiore, San Galgano, Bagno Vignoni and so many other favorite locations in Tuscany. Or simply relax and experience the true meaning of dolce vita and country living. We can help you explore and experience the culture, flavors and fun of Tuscany. “Great location in heart of Tuscany; wonderful property and very friendly owners”

Reviewed 29 Nov 2015

Property is peaceful, clean and ideally located for daytrips to the many nearby villages and Sienna. Grocery stores and restaurants conveniently located in nearby Buonconvento . This was a 50th Birthday celebration vacation to Tuscany with spouse and truly was a dream for us come true. The Bonari family are very friendly and gracious hosts. As a couple, our needs were modest and the smaller of the two rentals on the property was more than ample and very comfortable. The larger rental house is suitable for larger families and would be ideal. We hope to bring back our entire family and their spouses some day! Highly recommended.

“A True Tuscan Experience”

Reviewed 31 Oct 2015

My friends and I couldn't have asked for a better experience during our Tuscan stay than at Claudia's family villa/farmhouse which we rented for a week. Claudia and her mother made us feel incredibly welcome and on our arrival, had fresh eggs (from their own chickens), homemade olive oil, homemade wine and a homemade fruit pie waiting on the kitchen table! They provided us with an excellent guide to the area which they have compiled over time. The villa is rustic, spotlessly clean and well kept. It's location was perfect for our day trips to other parts of Tuscany and provided a peaceful respite at the end of our busy days. Claudia's mother is considering setting up a cooking school and I am really hopeful that she follows through, as I wouldn't hesitate to return to Buonconvento to learn with her and stay again at the villa. Overall, a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend a stay at the villa for anyone looking for a truly Tuscan experience!

“Beautiful villa, generous hosts, perfect location”

Reviewed 26 Oct 2015

The villa was exactly what we dreamed it would be -- and more! The hosts gave us a very warm welcome, which included homemade cake, wine, and olive oil as well as fresh eggs from the chickens. We truly felt spoiled. The rooms were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, and the grounds were beautiful. We wished we would have stayed longer. The location was perfect, just a short drive to many well-known hill towns. Buonconvento was a nice surprise -- a quiet, charming little town with great restaurants, cute shops, and a full grocery store. Be sure to try La Porta di Sotto. We highly recommend this villa. Staying here was the highlight of our trip.

“Tuscan Dream!”

Reviewed 10 Oct 2013

If you are looking to experience the beautiful and laid back life of Tuscany, this is the place for you! My husband and I stayed at Villa Galardini for 2 weeks and it still wasn't enough. The views are breathtaking, the grounds are beautifully kept and the hospitality was amazing. Our favorite meal of our visit was a caprese salad accompanied by red wine - all ingredients grown right on the premises (yes, even the olives for the olive oil and grapes for the wine)! The spotlessly clean living quarters are the best of old world tuscany with just the right amount of modern amenities for a longer stay. A short distance from the charming town of Buonconvento where you will experience the delicious smells of locally owned and operated restaurants, bakeries filled with delicious tuscan goodies, and family and friends converging on park benches to enjoy a little social time. I do not have enough words to give it the justice it deserves. Simply said - this place is a must stay!

“The place to stay to experience all of Central Tuscany!”

Reviewed 10 Oct 2013

If you're looking for a home base to see and experience Italy, especially Central Tuscany or just looking for a quiet getaway... this is it! The country setting is both gorgeous and serene. We are an extended family and all found something special there for them. Some enjoyed picking up a book and taking in the view while others took pleasure in helping the Host with projects in the vineyard. The location is convenient to many of the "must see" towns and villages in the area. It was always a pleasure to return after a day of sightseeing. Our Host, Brian, was a wealth of information from local restaurants to how to navigate the train to Florence. We especially appreciated his help with translation at the local farmacia when one of our party experienced a minor health issue. We would return here without hesitation if ever back in the area.
