Cool breezes roll down from the (dormant) volcanoes, providing a more pleasant climate than the more humid coasts. An underground river that flows cold, clear water down from the cooler highlands provides potable water, straight out of the tap (annually tested by a laboratory in Indonesia). The spacious, shaded terrace, overlooking the tropical garden and swimming pool, is the ideal place to retreat from the midday sun and enjoy fresh fruit cocktails or traditional Balinese food. There is also a Bale Begong – a traditional gazebo, next to the swimming pool, where you can drink, dine or just take a nap. The swimming pool is 60m2 and has a small kiddie pool and outside shower.The villa itself is on two levels. On the entrance level is a lounge with satellite television and large LCD TV. There is a small kitchen with sink, gas hob, fridge and microwave. The lounge has French doors that open onto a broad, shaded veranda (50 m2). This has a cool, stone floor, a large dining table, dining chairs and bench seating at either end. Leading off the veranda is the master bedroom with double bed, wardrobe space, cabinets and a spacious, open-air, en-suite bathroom with toilet, shower, bath and wash hand basin. A stair connects the veranda to the souterrain and garden. The souterrain houses the second large bedroom with French windows opening onto the garden. It also has a double bed, en-suite bathroom with shower, wash hand basin and toilet. Inset in the outside wall is a small bench next to the entrance to the third small bedroom. This bedroom has bunk beds and a wash hand basin and is usually used by children although the bunk beds have adult dimensions. Next to this room is a third separate bathroom with shower and toilet. All bedrooms have remote-controlled air-conditioning.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Rowena (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
