Get back to basics and live your African Safari Dream in our private safari style home! Built of granite, gumpole and thatch with Gwayi tile & polished cement floors; set in an acre of indigenous flora and fauna; you won't want to share this home with any other guests! If the property is marked as unavailable please message me to check...often there are cancellations that you could take advantage of!

Relax, sleep, read, write - do whatever you want to relax your soul! Even if we are just a stop-over between safaris, allow our cool calm home to help you to replenish your supplies and to re-charge your batteries!

Two interconnected Rondavels (a round room with a thatched roof) - tastefully built with granite, gum-poles and thatch - set in 1 acre of indigenous flora and fauna and set in the quiet suburb of Burnside. If you've got your own vehicle it is perfect for your African safari! Great for visiting Victoria Falls, Lake Kariba, Hwange National Park, the mystical Matopas or if you're doing research work at the Chipangali Wildlife Orphanage!

Extension: Second "bedroom" & pantry. (Ask for the bed to be setup etc)

Will sleep 2 adults plus children if they don't mind sharing the bed in the extension, on couches in the lounge, on the sofa bed or on foam mattresses wherever they fall! However, if you're on a real Safari, then the garden can also accommodate a few tents!

Recently re-decorated & with permanent staff on-site: maid & gardener with secure internal parking.

House rules

Strictly no smoking in the cottage! It's thatched! However guests are welcome to smoke in the garden and dispose of their cigarettes in a responsible manner. My property, and staff, are to be treated with respect at all times.

Reservations must be booked by the person who's going to stay in my home. If it is later found out that the person who made the booking is not staying at our home the reservation will be cancelled immediately without refund and will be reviewed appropriately.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Jeremy (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
