“Lovely Cabin”

Reviewed 23 Jan 2017

The cabin is very clean and warm. The owner is friendly. She left the lights on for us since we arrived as it getting dark. Lots of stars during a clear night. It was amazing. Our Labrador thoroughly enjoyed the pond!

Thank you for your review, yes you had some lovely clear nights to see all the stars which is a fantastic sight! I know what you mean about your labrador and the pond, I can't keep mine out of it either - they love the water don't they! Hope to see you again on a return trip.

“Great Lodge. Beautiful Location”

Stayed here for a 'mini-moon' break after our wedding just to get away for a few nights. The lodge was well equipped, warm and comfortable. Hot tub is lovely and with a nice view over the pond. Enough space for 2 for a few days but feel would be a bit cramped with 3 or 4. Mobile signal is patchy at best but you wont need it anyway if you are coming here to relax ( also note no WiFi - not a problem for us but may be for some). Lane is a bit icy in winter so take care. Could do with a first aid kit and some extra towels in one of the drawers perhaps. Overall a lovely stay.

We're delighted you had a lovely stay and enjoyed your Mini-moon. We also appreciate your comments. It's a good point you make about the towels and I will pop another one in for each person staying. With regard to the mobile signal, it does very much depend on which network you are on, some are better than others. We are on EE and on the whole have no problems at all. We do not have wifi in the lodge, but do not advertise that we do, so hopefully people coming to the lodge will be aware of this. However this goes with being in a very rural setting, helping people to completely get away from it all. In the past if guests have required wifi they have popped over to us and logged on to our network. We do say that the lodge really only sleeps 2. It all depends on what sort of holiday you are looking for. Some people use the lodge as a base only and spend a lot of time exploring the surrounding area, if this is the case, then it taking more than 2 may not be so much of a problem, but if like you, you want a more secluded, cosy holiday, whereby you do not venture out far, then yes more than 2 people could potentially be an issue, unless of course it was 2 adults and 2 children. I hope this helps.

“A beautiful treat!”

Reviewed 21 Oct 2016

Just woken up following my return from a three night stay at the gorgeous Cherry Tree lodge feeling very disappointed that I haven't woken up to the lovely views and crisp air I've gotten used to these last few days! I have had the most amazing three nights, in a beautiful place with some beautiful views. The cabin itself was perfectly equipped for our stay, with everything you could possibly need for a self catered trip. We were pleasantly surprised to be welcomed to a lovely care package of bread, milk and nibbles too. We experienced a morning with no hot water due to the gas running out but was so pleased with Debbie's quick response and solution in sorting it out for us. The hot tub was an added bonus where we spent each night, overlooking the lovely pond, where towels were provided for us to use as well. In terms of things to do, we found the town was a really simple, peaceful place - exactly what we wanted for our trip. A visit to Elan Valley is definitely recommended - pack your wellies! The Cherry Tree lodge comes highly recommended and i only hope we have an opportunity to stay again!

What a lovely review, thank you. We are so glad that you had an enjoyable, relaxing break, especially as I believe you were celebrating a birthday! You were certainly very lucky with the weather which has been beautiful for the time of year, proving that it doesn't always rain in Wales :-) We hope to be able to welcome you back again in the future.

We had a lovely time staying at Cherry Tree lodge it was just what we needed. In the middle of nowhere with beautiful scenery and the amazing hot tub! We loved the set up of the lodge. We only are out once as we loved cooking and eating outside as we had lovely weather for October. We also had a lovely welcome package left for us which was very much enjoyed! Will definitely be recommending to family and friends.
