Description from owner

Description

Abernant House is perfectly situated next to the river Wye and its tributary the Nant stream. The property was formerly owned by Lord Harold Caccia who was British Ambassador in China and Washington, USA from the 1930's to 1960's.

The original house is probably 18th Century but it was greatly extended and altered in the 1930's to provide a substantial country property with spacious reception rooms including a beautifully proportioned drawing room and a wood panelled TV room. in recent years it has been updated with a large kitchen and new bathrooms.

The large open plan kitchen and dining room with its large Aga at the centre of the house is warm and inviting and great for entertaining. French windows lead directly out to the garden.

The drawing room has comfortable sofas next to an open wood burning fire. A light and airy room with beautiful views out over the River Wye towards the beautiful Aberedw Rocks. There is a grand piano for use by guests.
