The Island of Malta region
The Maltese islands, situated almost at the center of the Mediterranean, offer the attraction of clear blue waters, secluded bays and sandy beaches while, in the towns, medieval walled citadels and splendid baroque churches and palaces reflect the rich history of the islands.
In Malta, you'll explore 7000 years of history yet live passionately in the present. You'll span the millennia with an astonishing array of things to discover. And wherever you go, the Islands' scenery and architecture provide a spectacular backdrop. The colours are striking, honey-coloured stone against the deepest of Mediterranean blues.
The Maltese Islands have been described as one big open-air museum. What makes them unique is that so much of their past is visible today. Delve into the Islands' mysterious prehistory, retrace the footsteps of St Paul or see where the Knights of St John defended Christendom.
Malta is holidaying as the mood takes you. And with near year-round sun, you can indulge in outdoor living at its best.
In just 48 hours and a kilometre or two, you can try a new sport, laze on an island cruise and tour the most important historic sites, and still have time to join in the nightlife. That’s the real advantage of a stay here.
The Islands offer plenty of specialist holidays for those seeking to learn a new skill, discover history or get fit. If you’re interested in sports, we cater as much for the seasoned enthusiast as the casual first-timer. Malta has wellness and spa facilities at the luxury hotels and club resorts. Sea and land lend themselves to activities from rock-climbing to gentle rambling.
For a tempo and scene change from Malta itself, hop to the sister islands of Gozo and Comino. Here, you'll holiday within a holiday and at the most relaxed of Mediterranean paces

"FANTASTIC – Frances, we love you, you are amazing"
This review is somewhat overdue. My wife and I spent 3 weeks over Christmas and New Year 2013/2014 at the Blue Horizon Penthouse. The short version of the review is – FANTASTIC – Frances, we love you and you are amazing. The longer version – We had one of the best holidays ever. The 2 bedroom Penthouse consists of the 2 top floors of the building connected by a spiral staircase. After a day or two, my wife and I were up and down the staircase like 2 gazelles (even though we are both 60ish). There are no less than 4 balconies, 2 of which are master bedroom and lounge and both with beautiful, panoramic views of the sea and St. Paul’s Bay. We were often quite reluctant to leave the apartment in order to explore the islands of Malta. We had breakfast, lunch and supper on the balcony (weather permitting of course) and many sundowners. The apartment is well equipped with all the necessary utensils for a wonderful self-catering holiday. We even had a little Christmas tree. Shops, supermarkets and restaurants are all within easy reach and plenty of bus route connections (we had a car and parking was no problem). Frances did the cleaning herself once a week and the apartment was absolutely spotless each time. The best part of the whole experience was Frances. What a wonderful, kind and friendly soul she is. Nothing was too much for her. Thank you my dear, for all you did. We highly recommended the Blue Horizon Penthouse.
Thank you for your review on trip advisor. We read, with thanks, that your experience was enjoyable and memorable and that you were satisfied with apartment and locality. Thank you for your lovely comments, it is always a pleasure to know our guests are happy and appreciate our effort to make their stay an unforgettable one. Thank you for recommending Blue Horizon Penthouse to future guests. We look forward to welcoming you back to Blue Horizon Apartments whenever you are in Malta. With kind regards, Frances

"Fabulous apartment - perfect location"
What a great stay we had at Blue Horizon Penthouse in July. The location was ace, the balcony allows excellent views of the harbour and the main street. Many a G&T were enjoyed as the sun went down before gong out for dinner. Close to all amenities, eating, shopping and travelling is so easy, it's a joy. The two bedrooms are so good for teenage family that this was the main reason for choosing it, however, even as a couple, this would be perfect for the views alone. Beware of the spiral staircase though, this is not suitable for those with mobility issues - we soon got used to it after the first day. Francis was so nice on arrival, we felt right at home immediately and upon departure, she was there when needed at whatever time suited. To be honest, we are already talking about going back to this fine apartment soon, it was that good.
It is lovely to read your positive comments and that you had such a good time when you were staying at Blue Horizon Penthouse. Thank you very much for recommending the penthouse to future guests. We very much look forward to welcome you back whenever you are in Malta. Best Regards, Frances

"What an apartment!!"
Another wonderful stay at blue horizon apartments. We stayed in the penthouse this time as we went to Malta to marry. The apartment was perfect for us. The lounge, kitchen and diner was great, the balcony with its views were outstanding. It even has a BBQ! We had to be a bit careful with the spiral staircase but it was wonderful when you got up there. Frances was her usual friendly self and very accommodating. The bed was very comfortable, locality is perfect not at all noisy. If you hire a car you can nearly always park close by or there is a bus stop nearby as well. Having the washing machine was so handy as we didn't need to take as many clothes as we could wash them. We had a lovely stay, thank you to Frances and Reuben
Thank you for you positive comments. It was our pleasure welcoming you back. Hope to welcome you again if you come to Malta again. All the best! Kind regards, Frances,

"Best view and location!"
penthouse was really nice, very clean and neat. The view was excellent and terrace was in heavy use. We enjoyed very much. Good restaurants was glose. It was easy to take a day cruise because the Bugibba jetty was near. Food in Malta is very tasty, especially seafood and very reasonable price. Have to come over next year! Thank you!!
We thank you for sharing your comments with us following your recent stay at Blue Horizon Penthouse in Bugibba. We are very happy to learn that you and your family have had an enjoyable holiday. Looking forward to having you back with us in the near future. Warmest regards, Frances

"relaxing lovely holiday"
We have been to Malta eleven times before. We have allways stayed in a 4* hotel in sliema. But this penthouse apartment beats it anyday. It was lovely. The layout and the furniture were top speck. It was great to have the two balconies, when the sun got too hot on one we moved to the other to find some shade. We sat on the front balcony each morning eating our breakfast and watching the boats on the jetty get ready for there trips. Also the view over St Pauls island of an evening when the sun was going down was spectacular. The only thing that spoiled it was the eldery couple in the apartment below, they were up at 5.30 every morning ,some times before that ,it was still dark.they were so noisey and then they put the washing machine on a two hour wash cycle. The washing machine has a quick wash cycle and only takes thirty minutes thus saving water and electric. But apart from that we had alovely two weeks .There is a very good food shop opposite the bus stop called "Gingers" We have mixed feelings about the buses We found no12 bus really good,it runs every 12 minutes. But to get to Mdina you have to catch no X3 it was fine getting there, but catching it back in Mdina because it had come from the airport it was already full.It is supposed to run every 40 minutes but we waited over an hour and then the driver stood and had a cigarette before we left and we had to stand up all they back, We eat most nights at DaNicole resturant in the "square" the food was very good .The staff were lovely and friendley. One night the newley elected "Mayor" for Buggiba was in there. He was introduced to us and we had an interesting chat while we were waiting for our meal to arrive. On our last night all the staff came to say goodbye to us .So we will be coming back to stay at the penthouse and we will be back to Malta as we love it there. Thankyou Francis and Rouben
Thank you for your review. We are very happy you had a nice stay at Blue Horizon Penthouse. We're sorry that the guests staying in one of the other apartments were noisy early in the morning. We hope to welcome you back in the near future. Best Regards, Frances and Reuben

"Lovely apartment - very high standard of accommodation"
Stayed in the penthouse in Oct 2012 and had a lovely time. Fitted out to a very high standard and extremely comfortable and secure. Great views of the sea front and fantastic location for getting around Malta. We used the local bus service just outside the front door to visit Medina and Valetta and the night bus for St Jullian. We had mixed weather but didnt really mind as the terrace was great for sunbathing when the sun shone but also fantastic to watch the waves crash in with the weather took a turn for the worse. Nice quiet location and very handy with McDonalds having wifi just across the road. Plenty of restaurants close by but not that many supermarkets if you are planning to self cater. Would recommend a visit to the classic car museum which is about a 15 minute walk. We arranged an airport transfer with the owner which was really helpful as we didnt know Malta at all and it was great just being left to the apartment rather than having to deal with taxi drivers and not knowing where we were going! Really enjoyed our stay and would go back again at any time.
Thank you very much for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your holiday at Blue Horizon Penthouse and hope to welcome you back in the near future. Best Regards, Frances and Reuben
