Description

Villa Flavia, Baia Sant’ Anna

Stunning sea views through the pine trees and only three minutes walk to a sandy bay gives Villa Flavia a choice position amongst this group of privately owned terraced villas built on a sea facing hillside, unique in their proximity to the coast. A path from outside the villa leads through the pine trees down to the lovely pool which overlooks the coast, and then on to the sandy beach.

Location - Baia Sant' Anna, near Budoni

The beachside hamlet of Baia Sant’ Anna is terraced down a hillside growing a profusion of shrubs and trees. Along the rugged coastline, iconic parasol pines fill the air with their invigorating scent and an arc of sand makes up Baia Sant' Anna Beach - a low key, sandy cove, just as nature made it, just 200m from Villa Flavia.

It’s a twenty minute walk along the coastal path from the Villa to the nearest restaurant and a five minute drive to Tanaunella and Budoni where you will find a greater choice

Budoni

Tanaunella & Budoni, SardiniaSqueezed between the mountains to the west and a coast of turquoise sea and white sand beaches to the east, sleepy Tanaunella village sits just 2 kms south of the better known and somewhat larger resort of Budoni. If you like to stay off the beaten track but with the opportunity of a simple occasional foray into a fully fledged holiday resort then a stay at Tanaunella may just fit the bill. It's said that the original folk of Tanaunella had an unusually close liaison between the sea farers and the mountain dwellers and there was once a nuragic village on this site. The present day village still runs along similar lines with narrow streets leading up hill to the Church. Amongst the shady streets are a couple of supermarkets, a bank, gelatoria/café, Pizzeria and a couple of restaurants, one of which La Volpe (Sardinian for Fox) has acquired an excellent reputation in this area. Below the village, pine trees border the natural white sand beaches of the lovely bay. Picnic tables spaced out amongst the trees offer shady retreats at lunch time or if you fancy something more substantial then there is a convenient beach restaurant (also open in the evening). A number of simple beach bars along the bay serve cool drinks and simple snacks.20 mins walk along the beach brings you into the sunbed furnished stretches of Budoni beach. A justifiably popular small resort Budoni is a buzzing little town, not overgrown but with all the facilities that one would expect of an Italian beach resort. With shops, restaurants, and banks, wind surfing and rocky coves for snorkeling, Budoni also has its own scuba diving school and during the months of July and August its streets close to traffic at night and stallholders set out their trinkets in multicoloured dispalys and their is occasional street entertainment with music or dancing. It makes for a very pleasant excursion to walk along the sandy bay to sample its delights, maybe enjoying a meal of the freshest fish at one of the trattorias on the beach front and an ice cream before retreating to the calm of your chosen surroundings.Drive south of Tanaunella for 15 mins and the ruined castle at Posada makes for a pleasant local excursion. Or head off into the natural beauty of the mountains. Go north to visit the exclusive Costa Smeralda, shop where the rich and famous shop (you'll need a deep purse!) and marvel at the sleek array of sailing yachts moored off shore. Southbound, at Cala Gonone, visit the Blue Marino Grotto or take the taxi boat to the lovely beach of Cala Lune.
