If you plan traveling to Budapest on a budget, don't miss to contact and ask if my apartment is free. Budapest is a great city to visit, and I have my place very close to the central (Belváros, Király utca, Blaha Lujza tér). You find culture, wellness, night life as well as shopping or socializing... It's almost everything in walking distance. It's a frendly, welcoming home, you'll love it.
Safe area, close to transit, with clean and normal sized rooms. You're welcome to stay 1 night or 1 year... no matter if 1 person or a family with 3 children... I'm glad to help you to find some great places, which helps you to maximise the "Budapest Feeling" and see the best corners.
So, the place... We call it "The Link!", because it is linking us with the world best people, like you. 1 bedroom, plus a galery, living room, small kitchen, small bathroom. It's a high ceiling flat. 1 normal bed, one futon, perfect for a couple or 2 people plus a pull out sofa for another 2 person.

The Central Hungary region
If you just come for a week-end, don't even try and plan to manage to see a significant amount of places of interest. When you travel on your own you have the luxury of planning things just the way you want without compromising (nothing wrong with this, by the way) and you'll definitive get lost in the stream of interesting and calling spots.
The best way to explore this city is Walking. This allows you to see as much or as little as you want as well as giving you the opportunity to discover things not on the map, but in real life.
You will have a great time walking across Liberty Bridge, to the Gellert Hotel, or through Gellert Hill to Liberation Monument and the Citadel. You will certainly not want to miss the buildings which make Budapest so unique, and the light on the river Danube, playing on the water before hiding away behind of the Castle. Dozens of Museum, lots and lots of great pubs, sport, wellness, hot spa experience, massage, beauty, etc... And all this for a very reasonable price.
Budapest can not be explained in a few words. Just book a ticket and arrive... it will welcome you. We make Guest from the Visitor :)
The "big circle" or the Körút, as we call, is one of the best place to start with, if you want to know your way in Budapest. There is one tramline, with 2 tram numbers, which are only separate at the last station, therefore we call them the "four-and-six"... Wherever you want to go, this yellow line will take you to great places. Even if you don't plan your stay, you will get a lot of impressions
Our house is located appr. at the middle part of the 4-6 line. Next door is the bakery, shopping, and everything what you might need. The shops around us are open until 22 pm weekdays and 8 during the weekend.
Just a few minute walk and you reach the Oktogon. Here the Andrassy Av. is crossing the "Circle", and you can decide, whether you go to the main shopping route, or you better walk up to the Hero's square, and eventually go to the big park and enjoy the sun. Close to us is also the New York Caffee, which is a truly beautiful building, currently in hand of Boscolo Hotels, but still it is open for guests to feel the spirit of the end of 19th century, the wealth and power what the Hungarian culture used to have that time.
If you wish to have just a short break, no point to plan leave Budapest. However, if you"d like to do that, we"re more then happy to organise for you the opportunity. Car rental is available, with or without a driver. And if you"d like pedalling, we have 2 bicycles available.
Whatever you'd like to see, you always can ask us to give you a hand with the planning. And if you arrive with your children, you can still make your free time. If something makes our place really different, then is this the "eye for children". (Or for the parents?:)) We take care about the kids, so you can have a dinner, or go to a museum, or to shopping, or whatever you'd like to do:) So, don't let the kids home, please:)
