“Comfortable stay”

Reviewed 4 Nov 2012

The Bothy is a very comfortable stay at a working farm. The cottage appears a bit larger than the images suggest and was fitted with almost everything that you could need. London and Oxford are within an hours drive, as are many great tourist attractions like Stowe House, Making of Harry Potter, Whipsnade Zoo and Roald Dahl museums. Owner is Mary is really friendly and invited us for a tour on the farm and just through the fields you will find a great route along the big lakes. Only reason that it does not have 5 stars is the missing wifi/internet and a larger own garden.

Owner's reply: Thank you.

“Perfect family break”

Reviewed 31 Aug 2012

The Bothy is very clean, comfortable and is set on a farm a few miles outside the village of Buckingham. We decided to stay here as we thought the self-catering accomodation would be perfect for our two daughters, aged 10 and 7, and we were not disappointed. Marie as a host is very warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Even her son invited our girls to help him feed the ducks one morning. The location is ideal. We had days out to the Harry Potter studios (1hr drive) and the Roald Dahl Museum in Great Missenden. It is also possible to go into London which we did do via the trains from Milton Keynes. We will come back one day! We all settled very quickly - a sign of a good break!

Owner's reply: Thank you.
