Description from owner

Description

This fantastic family home has been totally renovated to a high standard. It is a spacious three bedroom house with a large kitchen/diner, a cosy living room with log burner and a downstairs shower room. There is also a utility room that has a side entrance - perfect for sandy feet or muddy paws. Upstairs is a large double bedroom with king size bed and fantastic views, a twin bedroom, a bunk bed room and family bathroom.

New for 2017 - super fast broadband!

The garden is terraced and has stunning views looking out across Findochty harbour and out to sea. The dolphins are frequent visitors to this area of coastline and are regularly seen - always keep an eye out!

Findochty has a great pub, The Admirals, as well as a chemist with post office, local store, and hairdressers.

The house makes an excellent base for exploring the area - there is plenty to do from golf, castles, whisky distilleries, wildlife watching, or just simply chilling out and building sandcastles!

Findochty (locally pronounced Finechty) oozes character. Wander around the higgly piggledy narrow streets with the many multi-coloured houses to appreciate the real charm of this traditional Scottish village.

We love Findochty, we think you will too.

Location description from owner

The Scotland region

Aberdeenshire is a hidden gem of beaches, mountains and stunning scenery. There is plenty to do (even on rainy days), from castles, to many famous whisky distilleries, fishing, golf or a stroll on one of the many deserted beaches. The coastline is stunning, from rocky headlands to sandy coves with rock pools to explore. Whether you're after an active holiday or a quiet break away from it all, you'll find it here!

Buckie

Findochty is a picturesque fishing village dating back to as early as the 1400's. It used to be a busy fishing port, but the harbour is now home to leisure boats and used for pleasure. The village has an excellent pub serving meals, a convenience store, chemist and post office.

The nearby villages of Portknockie and Cullen are well worth a visit; Portknockie for its rugged coastline and stunning Bow Fiddle Rock and Cullen for its superb beach, unique shops and ice cream - people come from miles around for a Cullen ice cream!

Buckie is the nearest town, with all the usual amenities - super markets, petrol station etc. There is also a working harbour.

“Fantastic”

Great location and first class accommodation. The owner has refurbished this house to a very high level of finish. There was nothing you could fault with this accommodation. Looking to revisit in the near future. Thank you for sharing your cottage

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review, it was great to have you stay. Hopefully we'll see you again sometime in the future!

“A cut above the rest”

Reviewed 10 Oct 2013

In searching the many cottage properties available on the Moray coast we were tempted by several but when we looked at the description of the Station Road Holiday Cottage at Findochty we simply had to book as it seemed to offer everything we wanted. On arrival we were not disappointed as this newly renovated property had all the comforts of home and more. Lovingly restored to modern standards this property was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful sea air, views, dolphin and seal sightings and much more. The house accommodates 6 easily, its well equipped, clean & fresh as everything's new and a pleasure to stay there. Credit to the owners who have obviously worked hard to offer such a high standard. Would stay again any time.
