Situated in a scenic valley between Bryn Crug & Talyllyn Lake is this peaceful haven surrounded by nothing but mountains and trees, this private chalet park is also located within the Snowdonia National Park. This beautiful woodlands setting attracts amazing wildlife and enjoys magnificent views including a distant sea view, but has the bonus of an on-site club, restaurant and bar, plus an outdoor swimming pool. Equally guests will love the pure peace & quiet of this wonderful location.
The Woodlands is a peaceful green haven, but is only about a couple of mile from Tywyn, with its sandy beaches and many facilities. Plus the lovely harbour village of Aberdyfi is just a 15 minute drive. There is additional a laundrette and communal parking nearby. It is a safe site, set well back from the main road.

The Gwynedd region
Tywyn, Aberdovey and Bryn Crug.
Tywyn has a sunny west-facing 'Blue Flag' sandy beach. Don't miss the spectacular sunsets over the bay. From early Spring through till Autumn, dolphins and porpoise can be spotted close to the shore, an amazing sight to see! It's not unusual to see them on a daily basis in pods of up to 20. Tywyn is possibly the only place on the West Coast where you can park for FREE virtually right on the beach. There is level access to the town where there are supermarkets, very good eateries/bistros such as 'Salt Marsh Kitchen' shops, cafes, banks, a post office, cinema, health centre, cottage hospital, several churches, leisure centre and an indoor swimming pool.
For watersport enthusiasts and visitors with families, there are uncrowded, sweeping, sandy beaches. Depending on the conditions, Tywyn is a focal point for surfers & kayakers. Aberdovey is a well-known wind surfing & sailing centre. Jet skiers are welcome in both resorts. Fishing trips can be arranged in Tywyn & Aberdovey all year round. Aberdovey has a famous Golf Course plus several good restaurants & pubs.
There are miles of beautiful unspoilt sandy beaches, as well as many local attractions, such as the world's first preserved railway The Talyllyn Narrow Gauge Railway, which steams from Tywyn, up to the mystical Dolgoch Falls.
Residents & guests are very luck in Tywyn to have a group of film & art enthusiast who recently took over the 'Magic Lantern Cinema' then raised £100,000.00 to install a state of the art digital projector and are now able to offer live streamed music and theatre events, as well as the latest film releases. The Magic Lantern is more like an Art Venue than a Cinema, as they also have open mike nights and live music on a regular basis. They also have a full drinks licence, so it's a great place to have a night out and Tywyns restaurants are only a short walk. Have a look on their website, reserve tickets and please support this fabulous facility.
This area is full of history dating back to pre-historic times. Just get slightly off the beaten track on the dozens of public footpaths and you will come across standing stones, stone circles, abandoned farmhouses, castles & ancient churches.
Places within a just few miles NOT TO BE MISSED:
St Cadvans Church in Tywyn dating back 1500 years with the Cadvan Stones, which are apparently the oldest known inscriptions of the Welsh language.
Dolgoch Falls, spectacular waterfalls and woodland walk, look out for fairies and witches!
Cregennan Lake near Arthog, stunning location, with views of the Mawddach Estuary.
Cader Idris & Llyn Cau, most walkers agree is more scenic than Snowdon.
The Bearded Lake above Aberdovey, mystical place of legends, with amazing view of the Dovey Estuary.
The Dysynni River & reed beds. A wild life haven for geese, ducks and herons. Fishing with a permit.
Bird Rock. 500 years ago the sea came up to the rock, but the Cormorant still breed here. Also, look out for the ruined Iron Age fort near the top of the rock.
Tal-y-llyn Lake, just beautiful!
With all this and so much more, you can make a holiday to suit yourself.
WALES voted by The Rough Guide readers in 2014 at their NUMBER ONE favourite destination.
Set in to The Snowdonia National Park, Tywyn, Aberdovey & Bryn Crug are ideally situated for whatever type of holiday you are looking for. Whatever you're into: fishing, surfing, kite boarding, sailing, mountain biking, bird watching, painting, landscape photography or horse riding, there are endless scenic places to explore.
This region of Wales is without doubt a 'hidden gem' with some of the most spectacular scenery in Britain. This is a walker's paradise with Cader Idris just a few minutes' drive away! Snowdon is only 60 minutes by car and the beautiful Coed Y Brenin Wood, with miles of mountain bike & walking tracks, is just 30 minutes drive.
Don't worry if you're not the active type, the effortless Mawddach Trail, featured in Julia Bradbury's 'Great Railway Walks' program is accessible to everyone and takes you on a journey along one of the UK's most spectacular estuaries, brimming with wildlife.
There are miles of beautiful unspoilt sandy beaches, as well as many local attractions, such as the Talyllyn Narrow Gauge Railway. Just a few miles around the stunning Talyllyn Lake towards Corris, is the world renowned 'Centre for Alternative Technology' (or CAT) which is a fascinating place to visit and learn. Close to CAT is The Corris Craft Centre and King Arthurs Labyrinth, another must visit place.
ZIP WORLD an adrenalin fuelled zip ride is just an hour away.
BOUNCE BELOW is the world's first subterranean playground of its kind – and it's here in Snowdonia by ZIP World Titan The surreal experience of Bounce Below is set within a historic disused slate cavern, installed with massive bouncy nets to jump around in, unlike anything seen before!!
Surf Snowdonia is an exciting new surfing and water sports park to be built in the village of Dolgarrog, in the beautiful Conwy Valley of North Wales. Set in the foothills of the Snowdonia National Park, Surf Snowdonia will be a showcase for the World's first publicly accessible Wavegarden® artificial surfing lagoon
