“Beautiful, Luxurious and Family Friendly”
We were "blown away" by The Freeth! It is remote so make sure you take what you need but in such a gorgeous setting it is worth the drive. Stunning house and gardens, every room beautifully decorated and furnished but also family friendly. So spacious and comfortable the house has everything you need and more, a real home from home. The swimming pool is fantastic and was the perfect temperature for all the family aged 2yrs to 60yrs. A surprise find was the pool table upstairs in the pool house and table tennis in the garden shed. The playroom on the second floor was a magnet for the little ones as were the garden toys and swings. We celebrated a birthday with Sunday lunch for 14 around the dining table and there was room to spare. There are walks to enjoy around the estate however we were happy spending our weekend in and around the house. Make sure you take in the rolling landscape and sunsets from the "King of the Castle" bench in the garden. No one wanted to leave and we all want to return!
“Wonderful house, beautifully presented - but very remote”
17 of us hired this house for a hen weekend. The house was absolutely beautiful, the photos really don't do it justice. Communication was great and really quick, very professional. The cleanliness was second to none, everywhere was spotless - even the high ceilings with beams! The indoor pool is separate to the main house so need to go outside to get to it, it does have its own changing room and shower however. The water could have been a touch warmer! The only downside to the house is the location, it really is very remote and nothing in walking distance. So if you're happy to stay in the house and it's surrounding gardens then this is the place for you!
Owner's reply: We are very pleased that you enjoyed the hen weekend and thought that the house was such a high standard. It is at the end of no-through lane which means there is no traffic, lots of walks on the doorstep and wonderful views of unspoilt countryside, yet is still only a 10 minute drive from the nearest market town.
“Beautiful property in a truly peaceful setting - STUNNING inside and out”
We stayed at the The Freeth for a four night midweek stay to celebrate my fathers birthday. It was truly stunning - immaculately presented, extremely clean and tidy and very well equipped. Swimming pool brilliant, gardens stunning, playroom very well equipped, books and DVD selection great, in addition to the table tennis and football etc. I would highly recommend this property and am unable to find even one fault. It was suitable for children (6 years old being the youngest) to the older members of my family. Peta and Louisa were very helpful and couldn't do enough to make our stay so memorable Can't wait to book again next year!!!!
Owner's reply: We are always so pleased to hear how much guests have enjoyed staying at The Freeth. Thank you for taking the time to post a review and we would love to see you again in the future.
“Luxury spacious accommodation in perfect location”
It's WOW !! I stayed here for a week with family members ranging in ages from 17 to 80 years to celebrate Dad's birthday. There is something here for everyone, the decor is luxurious, great amount of space ,fabulous designed gardens, plenty to do-swimming pool,walking,games-indoor and out, reading watching DVDs or just relaxing. The service given by the owner and her team is excellent and personal they can arrange all sorts of activities if you require. The location is quiet and in the countryside beautifully peaceful ideal for a relaxing break and you can also take your dog.
Owner's reply: It is really kind of you to leave such a great review and the team and I couldn't be more pleased that you loved The Freeth so much. We hope to see you again at some point in the future.
“Perfect 60th Birthday Weekend”
To celebrate my wife's 60th birthday our extended family stayed at The Freeth, we ranged in ages from 1 to 91. It is hard to describe how perfect our stay was. The Freeth is a beautiful house, with stunning grounds, but somehow still manages to feel homely. The swimming pool is totally accessible and easy to use. We used the recommended chef, James, for 3 meals. We had Friday night fish and chips, Saturday 3 course dinner and the Sunday roast beef. All 3 were truly excellent, with everyone agreeing that the Sunday roast was the best they had ever eaten. Peta, Louisa etc... were incredibly helpful with any questions I had beforehand, the whole thing was faultless. Looking forward to the next excuse to go back.
Owner's reply: We are delighted that The Freeth was such a successful venue for every generation of your family and that your enjoyed all that the house, garden, pool and chef had to offer. We'd love to welcome you back at some point in the future. Enjoy the rest of the summer.
