Location description from owner

The Isle of Thanet region

Within a few miles of Broadstairs are the other interesting towns of Thanet, including Ramsgate, (with ferry services to Ostende), Margate, Sandwich and Deal. Further afield are the coastal towns of Dover and Folkestone with their excellent connections to the continent, Herne Bay and Whitstable and inland can be found rolling Kent countryside with villages as well as the wonderful city of Canterbury - a popular tourist attraction any time of the year.

Broadstairs

Broadstairs is a historic town on the Kent Coast, approximately 70 miles from London, which has been a popular resort for almost 200 years. Charles Dickens stayed for extended periods, and the excellent Dickens House museum shows how Broadstairs and its people were represented in some of his novels.
With 7 different sandy beaches within a short distance and a host of attractions it makes the perfect location for a family beach holiday. The beaches are:

Botany Bay
Kingsgate Bay
Joss Bay
Stone Bay
Viking Bay
Louisa Bay
Dumpton Gap.
Stone Bay is a European Blue Flag 2007 award winning beach.

Many of these have rock pools at low-tide.

“Best & most comfortable self-catering stay in years”

Reviewed 18 Jun 2015

We went away with both our son's family & daughter's family for my 70th birthday weekend. The house is very comfortable, very well equipped, full of games & toys & the 'wii' games for the 4 grandchildren. The pool & beach were brilliant. Who needs more!

“Fab family home away from home!”

Reviewed 10 Aug 2014

This was our second stay at the house, and we were not disappointed. The layout of the house works well with groups and there is plenty of room for everyone. The pool is a wonderful luxury, especially if the weather is kind! Botany Bay beach which is just die. The road is a lovely clean beach with a cafe and other facilities. The house is so well equipped it really is a home from home. Great for groups of families and kids.

“Beautiful house close to the beach”

Reviewed 29 Apr 2014

We stayed over Easter, 3 couples and our little ones, the house was perfect for the 10 of us, very comfy, clean, clutter free and big. Beach is a couple of minutes from the house, beautiful sandy beach, great cliff side walks. The owners were more than helpful. We would definitely stay again.

“HOME FROM HOME BY THE SEA”

Reviewed 28 Dec 2013

Two families, with teenagers and a 9 year old enjoyed this roomy, comfortable and well equipped bungalow, a very short walk from beautiful Botany Bay. It was very clean, warm, welcoming and homely. There was a wide selection of games, books and toys available and a large TV which was used for playing on the Wii! A high quality welcome pack, including Christmas treats was left for us too. Most thoughtful. The owners were extremely efficient and attentive before, during and after our stay, including a prompt return of the security deposit. We though this was high at £400 but can see why, for the level of provision in the property. All the usual kitchen-cleaning paraphernalia was provided, plenty of crockery, cups and utensils too. Staying in winter, we didn't use the pool or outside space but it looked well kept and attractive. Just one observation - we had one child only in the double-bunk-bedroom. Four in there would have been abit of a squeeze!

“Home from home”

Reviewed 27 Dec 2013

We stayed at Botany Road over the Xmas period 2013. The furniture, toys & games and kitchen were well thought out and well stocked. The kind addition of a bottle of bubbly, panettone, tea, juice and biscuits was the cherry on top. Our group of four adults, two teens and younger child was very comfortably accommodated with more than enough space to feel uncrowded. We loved being able to amble down to the sea. We were sad it was not cold enough to use the lovely wood burning stove; the house was wonderfully warm. The owners were easy to contact and made it clear that we could contact them for anything but we didn't need to at all. A very happy time was had!

“Top holiday house, good area”

Reviewed 29 Jul 2012

This holiday house is very well equipped, beautifully clean and comfortable. The owners couldn't have been more helpful both before, after and during the holiday and made us feel that if we ever needed to contact them it was no problem. The house is an easy stroll to a Botany Bay which is a lovely cove with lifeguards, tea shop, toilets and delightful walks along the coast line. We enjoyed and would recommend: Botany Bay Tea Rooms Hiring bikes from Margate and cycling the Viking Way Broadstairs town, the beach is lovely but very crowded Crazy golf and the beach in Westbrook The shops and cafe's in Margate around the Turner Exhibition which is also well worth a visit.
