Location description from owner

The Isle of Thanet region

Within a few miles of Broadstairs are the other interesting towns of Thanet, including Ramsgate, (with ferry services to Ostende), Margate, Sandwich and Deal. Further afield are the coastal towns of Dover and Folkestone with their excellent connections to the continent, Herne Bay and Whitstable and inland can be found rolling Kent countryside with villages as well as the wonderful city of Canterbury - a popular tourist attraction any time of the year.

Broadstairs

Broadstairs is a historic town on the Kent Coast, approximately 75 miles from London, which has been a popular resort for almost 200 years. Charles Dickens stayed for extended periods, and the excellent Dickens House museum shows how Broadstairs and its people were represented in some of his novels.
With 7 different sandy beaches within a short distance and a host of attractions it makes the perfect location for a family beach holiday. The beaches are:

Botany Bay
Kingsgate Bay
Joss Bay
Stone Bay
Viking Bay
Louisa Bay
Dumpton Gap.
Stone Bay is a European Blue Flag 2007 award winning beach.

Many of these have rock pools at low-tide.

Broadstairs hosts a number of themed weeks throughout the summer, including a celebration of Charles Dickens in June and a very popular Folk Week in August. There are regular firework displays during August.

“fantastic apartment - perfect facilities & location for our stay in Broadstairs”

Reviewed 24 Apr 2016

Really fantastic apartment & extremely useful / friendly owners - it had perfect facilities for the 5 of us & was also in the perfect location for our stay in Broadstairs to celebrate my Mum & Dads 60th Wedding Anniversary. We will definitely try to use it again if we need to in the future. Only slight downside was number of stairs if you were to have a very young family (or 80+ year olds who came to have dinner :-)

“Quite excellent.”

A truly comfortable and well equipped second floor flat, conveniently located for the restaurants, cafes, bars and shops of Broadstairs old town, as well as the beach and promenade. The owners were exceptionally helpful and supportive and went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable and had everything that we required. An ideal base for exploring eastern Kent.

“Quiet, spacious apartment”

Reviewed 7 Apr 2015

We had an enjoyable long weekend in charming Broadstairs in this quiet, spacious apartment. It is in a convenient location less than a minute from the seafront and very close to local shops and restaurants. This was one of the best self-catering places we have stayed at. It was well-equipped, comfortable and very peaceful. We probably had more space than we needed - a choice of three bathrooms for the two of us. Some generous touches like a bottle of wine, pack of tea bags and milk waiting for us were much appreciated when we arrived.

“Relaxing weekend break.”

Very friendly and helpful service - the best I've experienced with a holiday home. Lovely flat. Excellent location - there's no need to put on your shoes when you come back from the beach - it's so close. We have three children and they love staying here - it's a real home from home.

“A perfect apartment in a perfect location”

Reviewed 9 Feb 2015

The apartment is very well equipped. spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and ideal for the needs of my family. Lauren and Matthew have truly thought of everything their guests might need and were very helpful via e mail prior to the visit. We travelled from Yorkshire to celebrate my eldest sons 40th birthday [ he lives just a few minutes away] . The apartment is ideally situated for a short walk into the town for shops, places to eat and drink and the sandy beach is just at the end of the road. We love the apartment and have booked for September when my son is getting married. I would highly recommend a stay.

“Christmas in the heart of Broadstairs!!”

Lovely clean 3 bed, 3 bathroom flat, moments from the seafront! Fab welcome pack on arrival, Christmas tree up and a lovely bottle of fizz! Thankyou Lauren and Matthew.

“This charming place has it all!”

Reviewed 10 Nov 2014

After an hour's drive from London we were all very excited to see our new home for the next couple of days. The pictures we'd seen online didn't disappoint, the apartment is beautifully decorated with very good quality furnishings and so spacious. Three good sized bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a fully fitted kitchen, what more could you ask for? The location could not have been better, right on the seafront, just next to the high street and all the wonderful restaurants and shops Broadstairs has to offer. We had lovely weather which added to the enjoyment but to be honest Broadstairs is lovely whatever the weather. Even though we had great cooking facilities, we were determined to try out the local restaurants. Our recommendations are: The Charles Dickins pub just next door, for really tasty good quality food and reasonable prices. Raindells (the American diner), the food was really good and plentiful and contrary to some reviews I've seen, the service is excellent, it's not a "fast food" restaurant, everything is prepared fresh and to your taste which made it even more delicious. Morelli's Ice Cream bar is a must, delicious home made ice cream, I particularly liked the banana and mango. A little off the path is the Peninsula Chinese at St Peters, really good food and great service. For a bit of fun try the Lilliput MiniGolf it's good for a laugh. The coastal path is a great walking/running/cycling route, we had a lovely run along the path and returned on the beach, absolutely stunning. Although the apartment itself is highly recommended, so is the ease of booking this apartment, the attention to detail of the delivery of the keys, information on the local area and the apartment itself, even down to the parking permits. Of all the holiday homes we have stayed in (and there have been a few) this has been the easiest and most informative of all which again adds to the overall experience. If I had to say anything negative and I really am reluctant to, it would be that the 2 flights of stairs up were a little challenging for my parents, but they are in their 80s. Having said that, they still want to come back and stay at Chandos Square again next year.

“Ticked all the boxes for our min break”

Lovely apartment which was centrally located and right opposite the beach. Everything we needed was in the spotlessly clean apartment. Could not have asked for more. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would heartedly recommend

“Chandos Square - a great place to stay in Broadstairs”

Reviewed 2 Aug 2014

Three generations travelled to Broadstairs for a few days break, so we had to have accommodation that had everything we needed, and we certainly found that in Chandos Square with Lauren. Three bedrooms with beds all made up and towels neatly folded at the bottom of the bed. Three bathrooms, yes 3, what a bonus, brilliant showers and loads of hot water. A kitchen that is more equipped than my kitchen at home, with every utensil you can need. The lounge is comfortable with comfy sofas, tables and chairs, TV, games, and so much more. The location is perfect, so close to the sea, you can see from your front door. We accessed the beach from the lift on the prom, which we ideal as 5 of us were loaded with desk chairs, towels, bags, bucket and spade, and is only 4-5 minutes walk from the front door. Chandos Square is just around the corner from Morelli's, you have to call in there for an ice cream. So many places to eat in Broadstairs and most of them are within 10-15 minutes walking from the apartment. Then there is Lauren, what can I say, she just goes the extra mile to make sure your holiday works perfectly. Her communication is just great, she gives you directions, she arranges parking permits for you, she makes sure you are happy at every stage. Thanks Lauren, it was all great, and we all had a great time.

“an excellent apartment at a preferred location”

Reviewed 6 May 2014

A great and helpful service from Lauren and Matthew before and during our stay. They helped us with every question quickly. The apartment and kitchen had everything you need and even more. We slept in 6 comfortable beds and every bedroom had a seperate bath. We found lots of books and some games for the children. From the window you watch the North Sea and how the tides come in and out. Some nice shops, bakery and butcher are just at the corner and you could discover a lot of beautiyful beaches around Broadstairs by your walk along the seaside. But the "Viking Beach", direct in front of the street, reachable with lift, was the best of them. We enjoyed the two weeks in Chandos Square and would like to be there again. Many Thanks Lauren and Matthew
