Overlooking the harbour on Overgang steps, Seldom Seen is one of Brixham's oldest properties. This ground floor Apartment is a converted fisherman's cottage with 2 en-suite bedrooms with a third separate toilet. It is situated less than 2 minutes' walk from the harbour side. It has been decorated and furnished to a high standard and makes a very comfortable holiday home from home. The property overlooks the fish quay and outer harbour and has far reaching sea views.
This cosy apartment is only a few minutes walk to the shops, beaches, marina and is in an ideal location to explore Torbay and South Hams beautiful surrounding coast and countryside!
A Free Parking Permit will be included for stays of 1 week or more between the months of April and October. Parking permit allows parking for free in all Torbay Council Car Parks saving you lots of money! (Subject to the Terms and Conditions stated by Torbay council). The car park is approximately 5 minutes walk away, additionally, there is on road parking approximately 3 minutes walk away on Furzeham Green.

Rachel was very helpful on our arrival as walking me to the property sh told me where i could park and unload then go on to the car park the house itself was very clean and tidy and by the nice touches of fudge and biscuits upon arrival which was a welcome site all in all if u are thinking of staying in brixham u will struggle to find anywhere better she also helps you with places where to go
I can highly recommend this place it is very comfortable and cosy with a good view of the bay. Both owners Rachel and Mark are really helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Hope to stay again soon.
Seldom Seen is ideally situated to experience the life of Brixham harbour, being just 30 steps or so up from the harbour road and with great views over the fish market and adjacent marina. It is very well equipped and ideal for two couples or a family, as both of the bedrooms are en-suite, and there is also an additional toilet.
We have just returned from 2 week stay at seldom seen. Rachael was a perfect host. Rachel kept in contact on the day of arrival which made meeting easy, Rachael gave us a tour of the town on the way to Seldom Seen pointing out places of interest to dine, we arrived at the holiday let after s short climb up steps, there is also a ramp option. The Holiday let was very clean, fully equipped, plenty of bathrooms and newly fitted kitchen with dishwasher, tumble drier, washing machine etc. All in all we had a great stay in a very roomy and clean apartment. Thanks Rachael, we would definitely recommend and stay again if we came back to the area. Sammy the seal at Babbacombe was great too.

Fantastic stay. Exceptional standard. Lovely warm,comfortable accommodation. Great having ensuits in both bedrooms and another separate loo too! Rachel, the owner was really helpful & included a welcome pack of tea/ coffee/ milk/ biscuits & fudge! She also recommended places to eat. We walked out to Breakwater cafe for breakfast when the weather was amenable. Went to Tides Bistro within 5 min walk when it was raining. Had dinner at Rockfish just below the apartment. We saw 3 seals in the harbour as we walked to the car park, they were very interested in us too & came really close! Hope to return when the weather improves. Sadly storm Angus shortened our walks around Brixham but look forward to next time.

Stayed for twixmas and new year, lovely cosy warm cottage, excellent kitchen fully equipped, plenty of quality towels . When we arrived on a horrible wet evening cottage was very welcoming with a christmas tree in the corner. In the kitchen was a tray with tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and fudge, much appreciated. Would definately recommend this cottage.

We would highly recommend Seldom Seen. We had a fantastic few days here, Brixham is lovely and the accommodation was perfect. It's central, but still quiet and tucked away, very spacious, everything you need and more. This is a great base to enable you to visit Torquay, Paignton and Dartmouth but Brixham itself is lovely too, and the views from the apartment are fantastic - sea and harbour views, what more could you ask for! The inclusion of wifi and Now tv are great additions for those unable to go out at night (we have a 2 year old so evenings were spent in!). Would recommend a walk around the harbour in the evening to really soak up the atmosphere. We will definitely be booking again and would highly recommend.

“White fluffy towels and very friendly welcome”
We visited Seldom Seen for the first weekend in February half term, we needed to get away and were hoping to escape some of the grey rain and floods we'd been experiencing. We last came here 15 years ago and have very fond memories of the town. We met the owner at the sweet shop Bon Bon in Brixham- Rachel was so welcoming and walked us up to the apartment and showed us around. The children were completely won over by the goodie bags left for them (and I was quite happy with the box of fudge!) The apartment is immaculate with crisp white sheets and fluffy towels. Little touches like a pint of milk in the fridge and tea and (proper) coffee available were very welcomed. It also had lots of facilities, washing machine, hairdryer and WiFi! So many cottages do not even have soap in the handbasins (handwash in each all three-fab!). Nothing was forgotten. The apartment is a very short walk up some steps from Brixham centre. The view is across to the fish market and Crab Quay restaurant (we ate there and can recommend the food) with the sea view above. Lovely views of the fishing boats coming and going. The location is perfect spot for strolling around town, we walked to Breakwater beach and then on the south west coast path to Elberry Cove and back to Brixham through Churston, on the way we saw a seal- the children were amazed! The weather held up for us to but on the drizzly day we sat in the coziness of the lounge and watched a film in front of the (electric but very realistic) fire..... Will definitely visit again.
