Location description from owner

The Brighton and Hove region

Brighton & Hove, Britain's favourite seaside city. Nestling between the South Downs and English Channel on the sunny south coast.80 miles of coastline means super beaches for the family; here are lovely gardens, history and heritage; castles, abbeys, priories, stately homes and historic houses. There are family amusement parks and wildlife centres; the nostalgic, the curious and the simply fun, including museums of bygones, steam railways and caves. Sussex boasts numerous theatres and arts festivals, golf courses, horse racing, many ancient churches and buildings plus large Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty over the South Downs and Ashdown Forest, (including the soon-to-be-designated South Downs National Park) - and don't forget the Sussex Pub!Info provided by tourist board

Brighton

Brighton is a rich mix of regency heriatge, specialist shopping, lively arts, beach front fun and year round events, not forgetting the exotic Royal Pavilion.England’s loveliest and liveliest city by the sea. Brighton and Hove is fun, cosmopolitan and uniquely eccentric all year round. Regency architecture, pleasure pier, specialist shops, pavement cafés, lively arts scene and vibrant nightlife everything’s in walking distance, so take time to explore and enjoy. And with a backdrop of the Sussex Downs and traditional English countryside, Brighton and Hove is a great base for exploring the region. Brighton and Hove is the most enchanting, exciting, extraordinary seaside city in Britain. However brazen that may sound, it is no exaggeration. With its cosmopolitan air, oodles of restaurants, feverish nightlife and abundance of culture, the place defies comparison with anywhere else this side of the English Channel. For centuries it has been regarded as a ‘pleasure dome’, and that’s not about to change. If you love life, welcome to Brighton and Hove.Info provided by tourist board.

“A quirky gem in a great location!”

Reviewed 15 Apr 2016

Brighthelm cottage makes a great base for a short break in Brighton, with Martino as a lovely host. The three bedrooms means everyone has their own space and although the ground floor is small, the layout is good so you don't feel squashed. A few things to point out would be, the steep stairs, which could make it unsuitable for young children or those with mobility issues, and the low water pressure in the bathroom, don't expect a full on power shower! Also only one towel was provided per person, we felt we would have like a hand towel each as well. No dishwasher or washing machine, not a problem for us. Having said that we love it there, this was our second visit and we'll definitely be back. Who could resist being able to easily walk down to the sea front, the ability to drop off shopping bags to return for another mooch round the the shops or visit the wide range of places to eat? If you like staying somewhere a bit different, secluded but central, I would recommend this property.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us your feedback. Great to hear you enjoyed your stay at the cottage.

“Lovely cottage in centre of town”

Reviewed 26 May 2015

We stayed here for work over the Great Escape weekend and couldn't have chosen a better spot. The rooms were comfy, kitchen was appropriate and living room had comfy sofas. There was a lovely sun trap outside which we had nibbles in the evening and it was so close to everything. Definitely would stay here again

Thank you so much for leaving us your lovely review. Delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay.
