Very Good

“A well-positioned, comfortable and quiet base from which to operate.”

Reviewed 23 Jan 2016

The apartment was perfect for our needs. Namely: a comfortable base from which we could visit family, enjoy the attractions of colourful Kemp Town, and keep up with work (courtesy of the Wi-Fi). Proximity to the sea was a bonus and we found parking fine, using visitors' permits for the duration of our stay. Altogether a good experience in terms of accommodation required for practical rather than holiday reasons, with our 11 year-old-daughter finding it a very acceptable home from home.

“Nice apartment in Kemptown”

Lovely apartment, well furnished and easy to find. Nice comfy bed, good local shops and pubs, nice walk into town.

“Lovely and relaxing stay”

I stayed her for a short break with two adult sons to visit family. Place was spacious and clean with good quality furniture. Great sitting on the balcony in the morning with a cup of tea. Close to a fantastic patisserie and coffee shop with good coffee. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend taking local bus to seafood and hiking the seven sisters along the chalk cliffs while you are there. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.

We stayed here for the weekend while down at a festival, and couldn't fault a single thing with the apartment. Stunning apartment in an ideal location. The weather was perfect so we got a stunning view from the balcony each morning. Would highly recommend staying here.

“Beautiful House with all the things you need”

Reviewed 13 May 2014

We stayed in this 2 bed lovely apartment for 3 nights and it was a wonderful experience. We found almost everything here. Just bring your suitcase and everything will be here. Its a beautiful apartment and at a great location. Its not on high streets, so you can have a good night sleep. its not even too far from high streets, just walk for 5-10 minutes and you are in heart of Brighton. Highly recommended.

“Excellent apartment, excellent location.”

An excellent stay at the Portland place apartment from start to finish. Out of hours key pick up was simple, parking (using pre-purchased vouchers) was easy and the sea front was at the bottom of the street. The town centre is within easy walking distance and there are excellent cafe's/shops/restaurants on St Georges Rd ( the road at the top of Portland Place) I said, an excellent location! The apartment itself was really clean/comfortable and very well appointed. The large windows make the place really bright and our kids loved the balcony! I would definitely recommend this place. We will return next Easter!

“Luxury Convenient Apartment”

Reviewed 16 Jan 2014

This apartment is absolutely delightful should you want the peace of a seaside resort, hand in hand with a vibrant city 5 minutes down the road. I stayed here with 2 girl friends and we had a really relaxing time staying in the apartment and wandering out into the city when we wanted to. Transport was no problem and shops are (very conveniently) local. No problems with noise or neighbours. I would recommend this apartment without hesitation.

“Well equipped, comfortable apartment in great location.”

Reviewed 12 Jan 2014

On arrival the apartment was clean and warm - everything worked. There is a well equipped kitchen in the large, bright kitchen/dining/living area. Central heating and hot water were excellent - the master bedroom was still cool but there was an electric heater too if needed. Wi-fi worked well all the time. Second bedroom is rather small but fine for a teenager or 2 small children. There are several bus stops within a couple of minutes walk which allow you to make full use of Brighton's excellent bus service (only £17.50/week ('M ticket' on smart phone) for unlimited use). Short walk to the Pier and town centre. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.

“Our relaxing break”

Reviewed 30 Apr 2013

We were so lucky to find Portland Place. It was so easy to book and when we got there the place was exactly what we expected. It was clean, spacious with everything that you would need for a relaxing break. We turned up, parked the car, unpacked the bags then went straight out for tea and cakes (i had a beer really). The location was excellent and everything that we wanted to see was all within walking distance. When people do reviews they try and find the negatives, mine was that I had never operated an electric cooker before but with the free WiFi i was able to google the instructions (phew). Highly recommend this place.

“Wonderful apartment, fantastic location”

Reviewed 5 Apr 2013

Absolutely perfect location for lazy afternoons spent browsing vintage & antique shops and then topping up on coffee and cake. Short walk into the centre of Brighton and to the Pier. I'm sure if you didn't get distracted by the lovely shops (ooh and cake!) then you'd be right in the middle of town within 10 minutes stroll. The apartment itself is beautiful. Comfy sofas, a well equipped kitchen and very good shower. It's also quiet (so hangover friendly). There is a balcony where you can sit and watch the sea. The beds are made up in lovely crisp white linen and the master bedroom has pretty fairy lights that delighted me! The second bedroom is small - but the owner is very honest about that. We're going to go again in the Summer.
