The Brighton and Hove region
Brighton is one of the most vibrant, colourful and creative cities in Europe. Cosmopolitan, compact, energetic, unique, fun, lively, historic, young, exotic and free-spirited, it's a city like no other.
Voted Britain’s Friendliest City 2009, it nestles between the South Downs & the sea on the stunning south coast, Brighton offers everything from Regency heritage to beachfront cool.
A fantastic mix of iconic attractions, famed nightlife, award winning restaurants, funky arts, culture & year round festivals & events Brighton really does have it all - so much so that it’s been given the nickname of “London On The Sea”.
Located on England's southeast coast, less than 96Kms (50 Minutes) from the bustling city of London, Brighton is a chic seaside town with a distinctly bohemian atmosphere. Brighton is particularly popular among the artistic crowd, and several theatrical events and festivals are held there throughout the year.
Along the seafront, there are several traditional fish and chip shops and souvenir stands. The Victorian-style Brighton Pier juts out into the English Channel and is full of restaurants and amusement arcades that cater mostly to children and families. And forget sandy beaches. Brighton's beach consists of pebbles. Although it may not be the most comfortable place for sunbathing, it is the perfect place for taking an afternoon stroll.
East of the city centre is, Kemptown, Brighton is a flamboyant mix of grand seafront crescents, elegant squares, and a bustling High Street shopping area with a lively village feel.
Kemptown has been the main shopping area in this part of Brighton since the late 18th century, which is reflected in the many independent businesses still thriving along this bustling thoroughfare. From long established names to recent gems you’ll find an amazing array of fabulous foods, independent wine shops, second hand stores and chic design shops. You'll also find a number of quirky antique shops lining the streets.
Kemptown is also home to the city’s thriving ‘gay quarter’ so expect to find some more gay and lesbian orientated shops dotted inbetween the coffee houses, deli bars and specialist shops.
A bohemian, lively air mixed in with an eclectic range of shops makes Brighton Kemptown well worth adding to your shopping map.
(Brighton Visitor Information Centre)
For a look at what lives under the sea, Brighton's Sea Life Centre is the place to go. The Sea Life Centre has been around in some form since 1872 and now houses 150 species of sea creatures native to British waters, including sea turtles, sharks, and sea horses. The Sea Life Centre is especially popular with children and is a perfect way to spend a rainy day.
Aside from its many seaside delights, Brighton is also home to some historic treasures. The Royal Pavilion brings a touch of royalty to the seaside. Once the seaside retreat of the Prince Regent (who later became King George IV), the exterior of this 19th century pleasure palace bears a striking resemblance to some of India's most magnificent palaces. Inside, the Royal Pavilion is decorated with ostentatious displays of Oriental design.
Brighton, like its neighbour London, has a trendy fashion district with several high-end shops – as well as many well-known retail chains – to choose from. The Lanes is Brighton's historic centre and features a maze of narrow alleyways lined with shops selling antiques, jewellery, perfume, and designer clothing. The Lanes also has a variety of cafés and coffee shops.
Brighton has an active nightlife that rivals that of London. There are several pubs, bars, and nightclubs to choose from, and visitors can almost always be guaranteed to find live music somewhere in town.
Brighton is a pleasant town to explore on foot, but for those rainy English days, the city also has a good bus system. Buses and trains also link Brighton to London and other neighbouring towns and cities.

“Fab house, just what we wanted!!”
Stayed here with a group of friends and have to say we all had a fantastic time! The facilities were excellent (ice in the freezer, nice touch!) Beds were super comfy and decor was very Brighton!! Loved it! Only down side was we didn't get to use the outside roof terrace as it was raining! Would definitely stay here again!
“Fantatsic setting for our Hen Do weekend”
Just wanted to say that the entire experience; from booking, organising payments, arrival, deposit refund, was excellent - all very friendly and smooth which was fantastic when organising a large group. The house it's self is lovely, very clean and had great unique touches in each room - it was absolutely perfect for our hen party weekend. I would highly recommend staying at the Brighton Sea House and will be sure to check availability myself next time I need a little holiday by the sea!
8 of us stayed in Brighton for my sisters hen weekend in May 2013 and we had the best time!! The house is immaculate, really modern decor, the beds are soooo comfortable, we had everything we needed and most importantly it is in an excellent location! I cannot praise the house or Dawn enough. I look forward to returning again one day in the future!
“Perfect place to stay, Great Location and very modern Chic!”
This House is perfect in regards to pretty much everything, sleeping arrangements, location, decor and very reasonably priced. (for 8 of us over 2 nights it worked out cheaper than a Travel lodge!) The place is spotlessly clean and all the linen and bed sheets are fresh. The location is right on the sea front by the pier and everything (the lanes, the shopping area, the main clubs/pubs street) is within a 10 to 20 minute walk away. Dawn the lady who owns the property is so helpful and everything was so easy to work out with her. We had a great weekend and really can't recommend this house enough, it's great. The only thing I would say is if you are driving down, get all your parking permits from the owner when you book as otherwise it will cost you a fortune and it is a lot easier with the parking permits we ended up getting another 3 to cover us for the whole weekend.
“Great location - excellent property”
After being a bit sceptic of renting this marvelous home, since we found no reviews about it on-line, we were convinced to go for it after being in contact with Dawn, the property owner. She was quite understanding about our concerns and solved them in an easy way. We were a party of 7 ladies and we were very impressed by this property, the decor, the location, Brighton overall. There was a small problem with the heater in the house, but after calling them up and letting them know, they came to fix it and the rest of our stay was great. The property is on 5 floors, so if people are able to walk stairs, this is an excellent place to stay at. I recommend that you take a look at this property if you are heading for Brighton, it's very close to the beach and close to the main shopping street. We liked it a lot :)
“A luxurious haven in the heart of Brighton”
Brighton Sea House is a fabulous choice for those wanting to stay in the very heart of the city. Located in trendy Kemptown, the town house is just metres from the sea front and a stone's throw away from the pier. Although the location is ideal for nights out, the house is so lovely that you may well be tempted to stay in. The decor throughout the property is funky and fun, with everything finished off to an extremely high quality. The basement kitchen is spacious enough to seat eight comfortably around the table for dinner, and the cosy lounge is equipped with everything you'd need for a night in. As well as the location and the decor, what attracted me to the house was the price. In comparison to other properties of this size in Brighton (which appear to cater specifically for hen nights and are extortionately expensive), Brighton Sea House is an extremely good deal: we travelled in a group of eight and two nights cost less than £70 per person. We will definitely choose Brighton Sea House again for our next trip to Brighton.
“Fantastic place superbly placed in the heart of Brighton”
After checking numerous other holiday rentals in Brighton this place stood out as well priced and in a great location just off the beach in the heart of Brighton. I stayed at the Beach House for 2 nights with 7 other people to celebrate my 40th. The house was very well maintained and we were greeted more as friends than short term visitors. The house is arranged over 5 floors and could easily accomodate all 8 of us, though I guess its worth pointing out people who can't manage stairs should probably look elsewhere. There is a lovely outdoor seating area that catches the afternoon/evening sun, perfect for pre/after dinner drinks. Both the beach and centre are less than 5 minutes walk away so if you want to really live the Brighton experince this place is ideal. In summary for a group of friends or familes with children its a far better way of experiencing Brighton than staying in a hotel and you'd be hard pressed to find a cleaner or better maintained rental elsewhere in Brighton.
