Set just steps away from Island Lake and a short distance from Island Lake State Recreation Area and Kensington Metropark, hiking, mountain biking, riding trails, boating and fishing await! You'll also be 3 miles from the shopping, dining and entertainment in downtown Brighton.

Bright and comfortably furnished, this 485-square-foot cabin is the perfect place to rest and unwind between excursions. Settle into the living room seating while you watch a movie on the flat-screen cable TV before heading out for the day.

After a successful day of fishing on Island Lake, bring back your catch-of-the-day to prepare a meal in the well-equipped kitchen. There, you'll find that the extended counters provide ample space for you to create a delicious home-cooked meal.

Go for an evening stroll on one of the surrounding trails in the Island Lake State Recreation Area network. When you return home, settle down around the fire pit and roast marshmallows over the crackling flames.

As you grow tired, call it a night and head inside to the queen bed or the plush pullout couch. You'll wake ready for whatever adventures the next day brings.

The cabin rests just down the road from a boat put in on Island Lake, making it easy for you to spend carefree hours boating and fishing on the water. Don't forget to bring your bikes to take advantage of the numerous cycling and mountain biking paths that criss-cross the surrounding area.

Head into Island Lake State Recreation Area - just 300 feet from the cabin - to lounge on the swimming beach, hike the well-maintained scenic trails and fish off the docks. Come winter, the park has groomed snowmobile trails! Should you have any questions, the DNR maintains an office with maps and and officers to help you find the perfect adventure. Just 7 miles down the road, Kensington Metropark also features a beach with a waterslide, a farm center with a petting zoo, a golf course, disc golf and boat rentals.

Winter doesn't slow down any outdoor activities, with ice fishing available on the lakes, and cross-country skiing in the parks. Head over to Mt. Brighton Ski Area for downhill skiing and the terrain park, which are now accessible on the Epic Pass!

Top off your days with a cold drink at the Cozy Inn set a short stroll down the road. If you'd rather head to down, historic downtown Howell and Brighton both offer a great selection of local dining and drinking options. You'll also be only 20 miles from Ann Arbor where you'll find great live entertainment and, of course, sporting events.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.
