Description

Situated in beautiful Dorset countryside in an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this is a rare opportunity to stay in a very comfortable cottage in an unspoilt rural valley, rich in wildlife, birds and wild flowers. It has its own garden and lies within the grounds of the owner's small farm. There are numerous interesting walks straight from the front door and 2 good pubs within a mile and a half. Bridport with its twice weekly markets, shops, restaurants and a leisure centre is 5 miles away. West Bay (a bustling harbour where Broadchurch was filmed), the Jurassic Coast and there are several interesting beaches and coastal paths close by.

The cottage which is attractively furnished and well equipped has a beamed living room with a wood-burning stove and a French window onto the garden. A modern fitted kitchen, double bedroom, twin bedroom, bath, lavatory and over-bath shower. The wood-burning stove (logs included in rent) heats radiators if required. There are electric Night Storage and convector heaters. Electricity will be included in the rent except between October and early April when amounts over £15 will be charged according to meter reading. Linen is included. Towels can be provided, if requested, at a charge of £10. Colour TV and DVD. The cottage has free Wi-Fi access. Electric cooker, Microwave, washing machine/dryer, freezer and fridge. BBQ. Natural spring water with UV filter. Dogs on request, charged at £25 per dog per stay even if less than a week.

“Perfect English country cottage”

A wonderful stay in a picturesque warm and cosy cottage, with wonderful hosts, Jenny and Richard. Sitting in the flower filled and sunny garden for our morning breakfasts and listening to the bubbling brook, having our evening drink in the comfortable lounge room in the evenings, or sleeping well on the comfortable beds, it is all just right for a stay in Dorset.

We (2 adults & kids -6 & 9) had a wonderful week at barn cottage. Beautiful cottage and surroundings. Loved having the fire going and listening to the owls hooting near by. Although a short journey to many of the Dorset attractions, its a perfect get away from it all. Jenny & Richard were wonderful hosts. Would highly reccomend.

The cottage was wonderful, very comfortable and the owners were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We had an excellent, relaxing holiday.The only downside we found was the extremely narrow roads, which I suppose are a feature of rural Dorset.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Jennifer or Richard (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
