Description

The Hayloft is a spacious luxury four bed apartment in newly converted outbuildings in the grounds of a 17th century stone farm house. Ideal for couples, friends or families seeking a peaceful country break. Visit England 5 star rated.

Situated in rolling countryside on the borders of Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Warwickshire, Saintbury Grounds Farm is the perfect location to explore the Cotswolds, Stratford-upon-Avon and the Vale of Evesham. Located within 30 acres of farmland near the historic villages of Broadway and Chipping Campden, guests are tucked away from any hustle and bustle whilst the nearest shop, pub and restaurant are all within 2 miles and there is a direct train line from London, Oxford and Reading.

We have three holiday properties set within newly converted outbuildings close to our 17th century Cotswold stone farmhouse. Although all completely separate and self contained, the Byre, Dairy and Hayloft are located in the same group of buildings.

The Hayloft is a first floor apartment with 2 bedrooms (one kingsize, one twin), a bathroom, a huge open plan living/dining area and a fully equipped kitchen including a washer/dryer. It has a large digital TV and Bluray/DVD player, Ipod dock, huge comfy sofas and a big farmhouse table and chairs.

There's a great south-west facing balcony with fabulous views over the surrounding fields, bringing the outside in, perfectly positioned for enjoying sunny afternoons and stunning sunsets. With 30 acres of private grounds to explore and footpaths galore leading straight from the door, it's a great place to experience the countryside at its best.

The sloping ceilings add character whilst the rooms remain light and airy as the main ceiling is nearly 8ft high. Guests tell us that the Hayloft is much larger than the photos suggest.

Free WI Fi internet access is provided, subject to terms and conditions.

Although it sleeps 4 people, the Hayloft can comfortably accommodate up to 8 guests for eating and relaxing so you can book in combination with the Byre or Dairy or both, allowing everyone to eat and relax together before going to separate properties to sleep.

Situated at the northern tip of the Cotswolds and just a few miles from the start of the Cotswold way, there's a plethora of local footpaths, bridleways and cycle paths leading through magnificent scenery to some of the prettiest villages the area has to offer.

We keep a small herd of rare breed sheep and the grounds are a haven for birds and wildlife. Saintbury Grounds Farm is 30 minutes' drive from Cheltenham Racecourse, an ideal base for racing enthusiasts.

Please see the separate listings for the Byre and the Dairy (property reference 4936148 and 4938668 respectively or search for properties in Bretforton).

The Byre is a warm and welcoming studio property for up to 2 adults and 1 child with its own patio overlooking open fields and is just the place for a romantic break. Decorated in country cream with highlights of red and gold, it has a well equipped kitchen, dining table and chairs, king size bed and ensuite bathroom. There's a TV, DVD player, games and books to keep you entertained inside, while outside the private patio has its own bistro table and chairs and barbecue/fire pit, great for eating al fresco in summer and toasting marshmallows in winter.

The Dairy was once the old milking parlour, sitting just across the courtyard from the main farm house. Retaining the original beams and vaulted ceilings, it's now an open plan loft-style barn conversion. Some 12m in length, one wall is almost entirely glass, making it a light and airy space. It has a large living/dining space and kitchen as well as bedroom area and well-appointed bathroom. It's perfect for a romantic break or a chic country retreat for two friends. Although it's a two bed property, there are sofas and dining space for up to 4 people, so you can book the Dairy and Byre together for 4 and eat and relax together before going to separate properties to sleep.

Fabulous views, amazing sunsets, great walks, country pubs, gourmet food, browsing the antique stalls and farm shops - there's lots to see and do.

If you're interested in heritage, the National Trust's only pub, the medieval half timbered Fleece, is just down the road in Bretforton with Hidcote, Croome, Upton, Coughton and Snowshill (amongst others) all close by, not to mention Sudeley Castle and Blenheim Palace. You can take a hot air balloon flight across the Vale, passing directly over the Farm when the wind is right. Spend a day at the Dormy House spa or golfing at Broadway or Ingon courses. There's fabulous pubs and restaurants everywhere; docks, shopping village and Cathedral in Gloucester; Bourton on the Water, Stow on the Wold, Nailsworth, Tetbury; you'll be spoiled for choice for places to go and things to do.

Or, if that all sounds a bit hectic, enjoy a restful break and sit on the balcony, for a leisurely morning breakfast, sunny afternoon tea or an evening toasting the sunset.
