Situated in rolling countryside on the borders of Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Warwickshire, Saintbury Grounds Farm is the perfect location to explore the Cotswolds, Stratford-upon-Avon and the Vale of Evesham. Located within 30 acres of farmland near the historic villages of Broadway and Chipping Campden, guests are tucked away from any hustle and bustle whilst the nearest shop, pub and restaurant are all within 2 miles and there is a direct train line from London, Oxford and Reading.
We have three holiday properties set within newly converted outbuildings which used to house the old milking parlour and hay barn, close to our 17th century Cotswold stone farmhouse. Combining a character exterior with comfortable, contemporary interiors, they can be booked separately or together for groups of up to 8 people.

The Byre is a warm and welcoming ground floor apartment with its own patio overlooking open fields and is just the place for a relaxing escape to the country. Decorated in rich cream with highlights of red and gold, it has a well equipped kitchen, dining table and chairs, king size bed and ensuite bathroom. An additional single bed can be added to allow a child to stay with parents or for two people wishing to share the room but not the bed. There is an extra charge of £10 per night for this, up to a maximum of £50 per booking (before booking fees) regardless of length. For infants, you are welcome to bring your own travel cot at no extra charge.
The Byre is not suitable for 3 adults and any bookings for 3 adults will be declined.
There's a sofa, TV, DVD player, games and books to keep you entertained inside, while outside the private patio has its own bistro table and chairs as well as a barbecue/fire pit for you to use, great for eating al fresco in summer and toasting marshmallows in winter. With 30 acres of private grounds to explore and footpaths leading straight from the door, it's the perfect place to experience the countryside at its best. Free WI Fi internet access is provided, subject to terms and conditions. The Byre is Visit England 4* rated.
Situated at the northern tip of the Cotswolds and just a few miles from the start of the Cotswold way, there's a plethora of local footpaths, bridleways and cycle paths leading through magnificent scenery to some of the prettiest villages the area has to offer.
We keep a small herd of rare breed sheep and the grounds are a haven for birds and wildlife. Saintbury Grounds Farm is 30 minutes' drive from Cheltenham Racecourse, an ideal base for racing enthusiasts.
Please see the separate listings for the Dairy and Hayloft (property reference 4938668 and 6570632 respectively or search for properties in Bretforton).
Although all completely separate and self contained, the Byre, Dairy and Hayloft are located in the same group of buildings and can be booked together by request for parties of up to 8 people. Please contact me for details.
The Dairy was once the old milking parlour, sitting just across the courtyard from the main farmhouse. Retaining the original beams and vaulted ceilings, it's now an open plan loft-style barn conversion. Some 15 metres in length, one wall is almost entirely glass, making it a light and airy space. It has a large living/dining space and kitchen as well as bedroom area and well-appointed bathroom. It's perfect for a romantic break or a chic country retreat for two friends and the bed can be configured either as a double or twin. Although it's a two person property, there are sofas and dining space for up to 4 people, so you can book the Dairy and Byre together for 4 and eat and relax together before going to separate properties to sleep.
The Hayloft is a first floor apartment for four people, with 2 bedrooms (one kingsize, one twin), a bathroom, a huge open plan living/dining area and fully equipped kitchen including a washer/dryer. It can comfortably accommodate up to 8 guests for eating and relaxing so you can book in combination with the Byre or Dairy or both, allowing everyone to eat and relax together before going to separate properties to sleep.

The Worcestershire region
At the top of the Cotswolds, Saintbury Grounds Farm is just a few miles from the start of the Cotswold way, close to Chipping Campden and Broadway, Stratford upon Avon and the Vale of Evesham. You can enjoy the delights not only of these charming towns but also the nearby surrounding shire counties of Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Warwickshire. From Blenheim Palace and the Cotswolds to the south, to Worcester and the Malverns to the west plus Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick (with the best medieval castle in Europe) all within an hour's journey. And its less than 30 minutes drive from Cheltenham Racecourse.
The mainline train to London Paddington, Oxford, Reading, Worcester and Hereford is just a few miles away. Assistance can be given with car hire arrangements.
Set in beautiful English countryside, you can go for walks on wooded footpaths and head out on cycle paths with friends and family. Stop at a pretty pub for lunch or browse outdoor foodie markets. Explore the royal connections in the Cotswolds or enjoy our fantastic scenery by steam train. Lively cultural events, a year round season of sporting events and festivals – even the range of individual, quirky shops here – have all combined to encourage repeat visits by visitors. For lovers of the retro and vintage, the Cotswolds is a delight - full of experiences, inspiration and shops that you just can't find anywhere else.
There are some beautiful, traditional towns & villages including the capital of the Cotswolds, Cirencester; Stow on the Wold where you can admire the views from its hill top location; smaller towns and villages with lots to offer – The Slaughters, Broad Campden, Chalford, Bibury, Longborough and many, many more. Each have a unique character and we'd recommend spending time exploring at your leisure.
On the edge of the Cotswolds, the Regency town of Cheltenham offers award-winning gardens as well as an impressive range of stylish shops and restaurants, and a range of festivals, whilst nearby neighbour Gloucester will impress you with its fascinating history. Medieval Tewkesbury presents a range of beautiful buildings to explore and in the south of the region, Stroud holds one of the country's best Farmers' Markets. Both Montpellier in Cheltenham and Stroud have been named in The Times' countdown of the thirty coolest places to live, an indication of what incredible nuggets of beauty, style and culture the Cotswolds have to offer!
Sitting between the traditional working villages of Chipping Campden and Broadway, Saintbury Grounds Farm is 30 acres of peace and tranquility surrounded by some of England's most glorious countryside. Fabulous views, amazing sunsets, great walks, country pubs, gourmet food, browsing the antique stalls and farm shops, and there's lots to see and do.
If you're interested in heritage, the National Trust's only pub, the medieval half timbered Fleece, is just down the road in Bretforton with Hidcote, Croome, Upton, Coughton and Snowshill (amongst others) all close by. You can take a hot air balloon flight across the Vale, passing directly over the Farm when the wind is right. Visit Stratford and see the world famous Royal Shakespeare Company perform Shakespeare's masterpieces (last minute tickets are often available form the RSC website) or take a boat down the river. Spend a day at the Dormy House spa or golfing at Broadway or Ingon courses. There's fabulous pubs and restaurants everywhere; docks, shopping village and Cathedral in Gloucester; Bourton on the Water, Stow on the Wold, Nailsworth, Tetbury; you'll be spoiled for choice for places to go and things to do.
Or, if that all sounds a bit hectic, enjoy a restful break and sit on the patio, for a leisurely morning breakfast, a lunchtime barbecue or an evening around the fire pit watching the sun go down. Take a walk around the fields and experience the variety of birds, wildlife and flowers that make the Farm their home. It's up to you!
