Location description from owner

The Rhineland-Palatinate region

This is the Mosel area of Germany world famous for its Riesling wine and beautiful scenery. The Mosel river meanders past pisturesque old towns and villages with hilltop castles and vineyards everwhere. A wonderful region to walk, cycle, sightsee, eat, drink and other activities such as golf, swimming etc. The Rhine is not far away for visits to Rudesheim, the pretty town of Bacharach, Boppard and other places along the Rhine. The summer weather is warm-how else would the grapes ripen!.
There are the famous Chritmas markets in various towns in the region

Bremm

The village or Bremm is situated on the Mosel river. Koblenz, where the Mosel & Rhine meet is about and hour drive away and in the other direction Trier, the oldest city in Germany, with structures dating back to Roman times, is also about an hour's drive. They can also be reached by rail from the staion at Eller, just over a mile away.
Bremm has the steepest vineyards in Europe and they are something to behold. There are various restaurants and cafes in the village, just a few minutes walk and lots of wine tasting with the local winemakers.
The popular tourist town of Cochem is apporoximately thirty minutes drive away, or five! minutes by train from Eller through the Kaiser tunnel.
Another lovely way to get there is by boat which takes around two hours
There are picturesque towns and villges within easy reach along the river such as Beilstein (often used in films) and Bernkastel. Also nearby is the Spa centre of Bad Bertrich, with a feel of times gone by and full spa faciities are availble
There is a shopping centre nearby supplying all needs.
Really good open air and indoor swimming available nearby.
Every weekend, during the summe,r there are wine festivals in all the villages along the Mosel.
A wonderful area to relax, cycle, walk and enjoy

“A fabulous house in a beautiful region of Germany”

Reviewed 26 Jul 2016

This is a beautifully appointed house, in a wonderfully quaint village surrounded by steep mountains covered in grape vines. The house is equipped with everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay, with a good sized garden for al fresco dining in the sunshine, and drinking the local wine in the evening. The neighbours are very friendly and on hand to offer their helpful advice. There are lots of local wine producers in the village and surrounding area where you can sample and buy their Riesling wine and balsamic vinegars at very reasonable prices. You can take advantage of the bikes that are provided to enjoy the local countryside, or, within a short drive, there are larger towns for exploring and enjoying. We are hoping to return during the grape harvest to see how the grapes are collected from the steep mountainside!

Owner's reply: Thankyou for your review and we are very pleased you enjoyed your stay.

marvellous place to chill out. Park the car and cycle, walk or use excellent bus service to get around. The garden just made for relaxing. the only down side no sat. tv and being a bunch of political junkies found the excellent Wi-Fi signal served its purpose. Very comfortable house ,excellent showers.

Owner's reply: Thankyou George Glad you enjoyed it!

Lovely place to stay in such a pretty area with many things to see and do. The house was very comfortable with a lovely garden and the owners have thought of every need you may have and the kitchen was very well equiped if you should wish the use of it . Would love to return one day and explore further.

Owner's reply: Thankyou Lynn would welcome you back!
