“Perfect Christmas get together for 4 generations of a large family”

Reviewed 28 Dec 2016

Just returned from a fabulous Christmas break with a family of 14 ranging in age from 3 to 90 and would love to return next year. Communal room was perfect for dining together and sitting round the fire, and the extra space in the individual cottages was ideal for those seeking some peace and quiet! The accommodation was warm, comfortable and well equipped. We didn't go out much, but did visit the nearby town of Crickhowell and managed a walk along the canal path at Llangynidr.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your review, we are so pleased you were so happy with us, also we were so amazed and grateful for the way you left the venue THANK YOU come again please.

“Great venue for a large group”

12 of us attended a tai chi weekend at the cottages. Despite some inclement weather, the stay was made enjoyable by the facilities available in the cottages. Having used the cottages previously, we were pleased to see more improvements this time including Wi-Fi in every cottage and a warm personal greeting with cakes in each kitchen. The main attraction for us is the communal social and dining area within the complex so that we could share meals and evenings. The inclusion of a log fire in this area also added to our good experience. The cottages were very comfortable and clean and beds so easy to sleep in. We will definitely be booking Cilwych cottages again for our training.

“Lovely holiday cottages in a stunning, peaceful location.”

Reviewed 4 May 2013

I was looking for accommodation for my husband and I and a group of friends. There were eleven of us in all. Once I had found Cilwych Farm Cottages web site I knew I didn't need to look any further. The price was incredibly reasonable and the stunning, peaceful location in the Brecons was exactly what we wanted. The deciding factor was the communal room with a fully fitted kitchen including a superb kitchen range. We wanted somewhere that we could all meet in the evening, cook ourselves a meal and sit around the log fire so having the communal room was important to us. We were given a warm welcome when we arrived and in each cottage was a lovely cake and some milk. This we felt was a lovely touch, we felt at home instantly. The cottages are light and spacious with well equipped kitchens and many nice features. We all had a great time and would like to tthank Steve & Sharon for helping to make our stay such a pleasant one. We would all be happy to go back to Cilwych and highly recommend it.

“Beautiful cottages in stunning location”

My brothers and sisters all came along with their own families to celebrate our mother's 60th birthday to at Cilwych Farm Cottages... and it was fab! Each families had it own cottage and the communal area was plenty big enough for us all. The cottages have lovely authentic features and the surrounding area/landscape is fantastic. I highly recommend this place!

“A great place to stay, brilliant”

Reviewed 2 Mar 2013

We stayed as a group of 13 ladies for my sisters Hen Do. Each cottage was extremely spacious, and the recreation room was great to get together and eat cake. The landlady was extremely accommodating, separating the king size beds in to single beds for all of the party. The fire place made the main room cosy and no one was on top of each other. We had one member of the party with accessibility issues, using a frame and wheel chair, and there was plenty of room for her to get around. Overall everyone had a fantastic time, loved the cottages and would all return. Tea and cake on arrival was great - thank you.
