Location description from owner

The England region

Surrounded by The Forest of Dean, which Deer, sheep and wild boar roam. The sheep also roam the local villages and many can be seen resting/munching along the roadside. A delight for children and adults, especially in lambing time. The region offers rivers and beautiful undulating scenery, yet not too distant from many activities

The Forest of Dean is close to Herefordshire & Monmouthshire giving the opportunity to explore several counties from a central point. Cardiff and Gloucester cities are within easy access and several small towns, which remain quaint and pleasant to view. Many attractions are in the forest and surrounding areas.

Bream

Bream is reputedly the largest village in The Forest of Dean, offering a selection of shops (general store, butchers, florist, hairdressers, dog parlour and post office) spread throughout the village. Access to many acres of woodland is right on the door step of the cottage. Walkers delight. Dogs too!

Within a short car drive, there is golf, canoeing, go-ape tree climbing, fishing, cycling tracks (Gloucestershire Way). Steam railway experience for adults and children and museum for the rail enthusiast. Miniature railway and maze only 3 miles from cottage. Caves to explore and the history of the mining area of The Forest of Dean. Many good eateries and public houses. Cinemas and swimming pools for when the weather isn't so good. So plenty for everyone. There are activities to suit all ages and although this unspoilt, often unknown area is becoming better known, The Forest of Dean retains its charm and delight to all who visit. Filming location for Star Wars, Harry Potter & Dr. Who within 3 miles.

Most visitors leave after a week, without covering half of what is available to them. No wonder they return!

“Lovely comfortable cottage”

Reviewed 5 Jan 2016

Hector's House was a lovely, clean and well equipped cottage. It felt like staying in a home rather than a rental property. The communication from Lynda before the stay was really good, telling us everything we needed to know. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting a relaxing break in the Forest of Dean.

Thank you Ruth and so glad you found everything to your satisfaction. We endeavour to give that little bit extra and make it comfortable for our visitors.
