Description

Luxury lodge for 2 adults set in meadow land and orchard trees. Presented as twin beds or a super king bed, as requested by you. Contemporary architectural design with beautiful tall windows and a hardwood decking area overlooking the meadow land. The interior has wood floors with underfloor heating, spacious bathroom with walk in shower and some adaptions for those with reduced mobility, lovely light and airy bedroom and a living room with kitchenette, dining table and 1 comfortable arm chair and sofa. Free wifi. Located close to the village of Braunton - 3/4 mile level walk, 2 miles to Saunton Beach by car, 3.3 miles to Croyde Beach and 1.4 miles to the Tarka Trail.

One light and spacious bedroom with super king or twin beds with views of the meadow. Wardrobe, drawers and bedside cabinets desk fan, clock radio with bluetooth.

One living/dining room with 1 armchair and a sofa, coffee table with books, games, maps and information on the local area. Dining table and 2 chairs. Thoughtfully equipped Kitchenette with hob, microwave, fridge - ideal for making breakfast and light meals, cleaning materials, cloths etc also provided. Corner shop and off licence 10 minutes walk away, for basic groceries and newspapers and local farm eggs just over the road.

Bathroom with natural stone, walk-in shower has grab rails, wc (raised height), wash basin with lit mirror and shaving socket, heated towel rail. Shower chair available on request.

Outdoor decking with table and 2 chairs, BBQ available, outdoor tap, parking area for 1 car next to lodge and further space for second car by arrangement.

All bed linen provided, bath sheet, bath towel and hand towel per person. Hand soap and shower gel. Mid-stay towel change for stays of 5 nights or more, on request. Linen change option for £20.

The lodges face south and have a sunny aspect with shade sails to keep you cool in the summer. There is underfloor heating throughout.

Decorated with Pete Caswell's original art work - lively and colourful paintings of the coast. You are also welcome to visit the gallery, on site.

The lodges are near the sand dunes of the UNESCO Braunton Burrows Biosphere and the Taw Estuary, with great walks, cycling and opportunities for bird watching and finding seasonal wild flowers and butterflies. You can hear the sea when the surf is up. Our meadows are also a delight in the summer and bring in lots of wildlife to enjoy.

Cycling routes include the Tarka Trail and more challenging routes in North Devon to Ilfracombe and the North Devon Coastline such as Heddon's Mouth.

Great surf beaches at Saunton Sands, Croyde and Putsborough. Beautiful for walking on the dunes or headlands. Sandy lane car park just 1 mile away or drive along the toll road to the estuary at Crow Point. Saunton Sands Beach is just 1.7 miles away but we don't advise walking due to the lack of a footpath.

Regular bus service with stop nearby (Westmeadow Road), to Croyde and Georgeham and also to Banstaple and on to Westward Ho! Connections in Braunton also go to Woolacombe and Ilfracombe.

Adults only accommodation. maximum 2 persons per lodge. Minimum age 18. No pets allowed.

Getting around

Stagecoach bus 21 runs through Braunton near the Gallery Lodges in the direction of Croyde/Georgeham or towards Barnstaple. The timetables change seasonally, so please check online. Nearest bus stop is called West Meadow Road. Good car access to the beaches of Saunton Sands and Croyde, both now have parking options from £1.00 for 1 hour to full day rates giving great flexibility. Cycle the Tarka Trail or to Crow Point with access via small country lanes from the lodges. Otter Cycle Hire in Braunton village, 1 mile away. More challenging routes on the North Devon coast. Level walking to the village, but we do not recommend walking to the sea along the busy roads as there is no footpath in this direction.

Interaction with guest

We live on the site and will meet you with the keys. We can arrange late arrivals on request and try to accommodate early arrivals where possible. We have lots of ideas for places to eat, walks, surf lessons, bike rides etc and will be happy to help. The lodges also have maps and books on the local area as well as menu suggestions from some of our favourite restaurants. We'll be on hand to help with any queries or questions throughout your stay, if you need us, otherwise we will leave you to enjoy your stay.
