“UTTERLY AMAZING - THIS HOUSE HAS THE WOW FACTOR - 5 STAR”

Reviewed 26 Sep 2012

A true gem. Beautiful house which lived up to and surpassed my expectations. The house had everything we wanted and more. The attention to detail is second to none. Such a high quality furnished home. We felt very much at home, a real comfortable modern high spec home. The children particularly loved the bedroom with 3 bunk beds, just perfect. The house has an array of toys and board games and as our children are young they made full use of the toys, which was great. No need to pack those extra toys as the house has it all. My son who is nearly 6 loved the table tennis table as did the adults. We had so much to do in and around the area and after a long day out the highlight was coming back and take a dip in the hot tub. The kids thoroughly enjoyed this too. The garden is landscaped beautifully and has the hidden gem of a wendy house at the top of the garden. The setting of the garden, stepped in the hills, gave view to stunning scenery and surroundings. The garden makes you gasp as its so amazing. The weather was a little unkind to us the latter part of the holiday and the heavens opened which stopped us using the fantastic BBQ and the log fire. I can imagine on a summers evening sitting in the garden with the fire going and the BBQ, just bliss. Even on the days when the weather wasn't great, the house has so much to offer for you. The owners recommended places to visit and gave perfect instructions on how to use all equipment, very thorough and concise. I must say we checked out two of the beaches recommended and they were amazing. Saunton Sands and Puttsborough Beach. The house is in a great location and truly has everything you could ever want. This was our first time in North Devon and so much so we have already booked to come back next year and have already booked BARNS COTTAGE. I would not book anywhere else.

Thank you so much for your wonderfully complimentary review of Barns Cottage! It really means alot to us when our guests appreciate our home as much as we do. We are delighted that you all enjoyed the hot tub and table tennis table and that the children loved the bunk beds and the wendy house in the garden. It sounds like you made the most of the wonderful local beaches too. We are really excited to welcome you back again next year and will be happy to suggest some other fantastic local places to explore!

“Pure indulgence in Devon”

What a fantastic holiday and in a fabulous cottage. The attention to detail was pure luxury, the beds are amazing with beautiful linen. The bathrooms are.great with rainforest showers and the free standing bath in the master bedroom was a must ! The outside area was so well thought out and the children had a great Easter egg hunt on Easter day,so many hiding places. We all enjoyed the hot tub and the table tennis was put to good use. The cottage is a prime location, only minutes away from Braunton centre, we went to the famous Squires fish n chip resturant, which was lovely, and 'At One' resturant for Tapas which was fantastic. We walked the south west coastal path through several villages in the area, and had fab weather. We would definitely go again, Thankyou Barbara.

I am thrilled that you enjoyed your stay at Barns Cottage and thank you for your wonderful comments about the house and garden. So glad that you had great weather and got to experience some of the wonderful coastal walks that the area has to offer, and enjoy some of the superb local cuisine! We would love to welcome you to our house again one day!

“Amazing cottage in cozy Braunton! Couldn't have asked for more.”

Reviewed 13 Jan 2012

We had a wonderful New Year's weekend at Barns Cottage despite the cold, rainy and windy weather. The cottage was the perfect size, with room to spread out, for our family of 4 plus Grandma and Grandpa. Everything was finished to a very high standard and we enjoyed every minute of our stay, especially the daily trips to the hot tub. There was nothing lacking and we wish the weather had been better so we could have enjoyed the deck and outdoor space more! It looked so inviting and in the summer would be absolutely fantastic. The town of Braunton is very nice with all the amenties you would need. Easy walk to more than one small supermarket, quaint shops and good restaurants. We especially enjoyed Squires which is a Devon favorite for excellent Fish & Chips. The beach is only a short drive away and Saunton Sands would be a great place to spend a warm, sunny day - - especially if you like to surf!

Thank you for your lovely remarks. We're so happy to share our home with people that appreciate it. Hopefully if you visit again the weather will be kinder to you.

“Stunning cottage in tranquil but convenient location”

Reviewed 11 Oct 2011

We had a fabulous two week family holiday in Barns Cottage. Set at the end of a quiet lane but very conveniently located a few minutes from Braunton, the cottage was a perfect base for exploring this lovely part of Devon. Cottage on the outside, stunning design and immaculate finish on the inside. Everything top quality, gorgeous four poster beds, designer bathrooms, high quality bedding , super fully equipped kitchen and all spotlessly clean made for an extremely comfortable holiday. After long sunny days on the fantastic Woolacoombe beach or out exporing, it was lovely to return to Barns Cottage and spend relaxing evenings in the very attractively designed garden (complete with designer lighting) and to while away the evening in the hot tub and enjoy a glass of wine by the outdoor fire. The garden was a big plus for us. Our children loved the table tennis table and in fact hardly had any ‘screen time’ in the whole two weeks. A perfect holiday – thank you Barbara and Perry, we all loved Barns Cottage!

Thank you for your wonderful comments. We're so glad you got to enjoy all the best that Barns Cottage, Braunton and the local area have to offer, and some glorious sunshine to cap it off! We hope to welcome you back one day.
