“Beautiful property in the countryside”

Reviewed 20 Oct 2013

The property was tidy and clean. We got a warm welcome with flowers and biscuits. The place is very cozy, quiet and has got a beautiful yard with sitting possibilities. It is situated in a small, quiet village with a pub. The only downside is that a car is needed as there are no possibilities to shop for groceries in the village, but we got informed about this in advance. It`s a beautiful property to stay!

“So relaxing”

What a lovely cottage with everything you need. We had a lovely relaxing time, exploring the coast and Dartmoor. The cottage was lovely and homely to come back to after a busy day seeing the sights and walking. The pub is so close and serves really good pub food and was very welcoming. Three nights wasn't really enough time to do everything we would have liked to do so hopefully we'll be back one day!

“Amazing”

My partner and I loved our weekend break. We wanted somewhere quiet and typica British countryside - this trip was just that. Marcia and Phil were fab, the cottage was gorgeous and was like a home away from home. The local pub served delicious food and the service was great, staff friendly and well priced. I would certainly rate the whole trip 10/10

“Cottage and village to be recommended.”

Reviewed 29 Jul 2012

When we arrived, we were really pleased. The cottage is delightful. There was milk in the fridge, coffee, tea and biscuits in a basket so we could make a drink straight away. The kitchen, furniture, bedrooms and 'plumbing' were all fine. The location in the village is easy to find and really quiet. All the local people we saw were really friendly and the Clovelly Inn does good food and is a nice place to relax with a drink. The village is suitable as a base for holiday activities. We found Dartmoor walks, the Garden House, the Eden Project, Dartington Glass and Plymouth all within reasonable driving distance - you can walk to Roadford Lake (about 3 miles) without using the car. Tesco in Launceton is only about 20 miutes away for groceries and petrol. The cottage and village are very tranquil - just what we like.

“Perfect cottage, lovely relaxing location”

Reviewed 9 May 2012

We decided to book a last minute weekend away over the bank holiday. Marcia was excellent from the start, and the booking process was very easy. They also gave us really good directions to get to the Hayloft. Once we got there, there were tea bags, coffee milk and biscuits waiting for us which was a really lovely touch after quite a long journey! The Hayloft was spotless and really light and we relaxed straight away! There was a note saying to not hesitate to contact Marcia and Phil if we needed anything, which made us feel very welcome. We were told that on the last day of our stay we had to leave by 10:30, but after a text to Marcia we were told we could stay as long as we wanted, again brilliant! We didn't want to leave! All in all we had a wonderful stay and hopefully will go back again. Thank you Marcia and Phil for your perfect cottage and attention to the little details.

“perfection”

wow! what a fantastic place the hay loft is, the cleanliness and attention to detail is second to none. we were looking for peace and relaxation and we certainly found it at the hay loft, the clovelly inn with great food is a two minute walk away, dartmoor is on your doorstep with some wonderful walks, and if you want to shop you have exeter or plymouth wich are not to far to drive to.
