Description

Set on a hilltop with wonderful views La Roche Chabrelle has 3 gîtes in converted barns near the large heated swimming pool (12mx6m) and 1 secluded gîte in the original farmhouse with its own private garden. You can explore the 5 acres (2 ha) of terraced gardens, woods and caves or just relax and admire the beautiful views.

This is a paradise for children and parents alike with plenty to do on site and many places to visit in the area. Onsite is badminton, table tennis and table football.

La Roche Chabrelle equally suits couples out of High Season who can enjoy the heated pool, the local fauna and flora (including many native orchids on site) and benefit from our attractive pricing policy.

The gîtes typically are very well equipped with fitted kitchen including cooker, fridge, dishwasher and microwave. Each gîte has beautiful large beamed sitting/dining rooms. Bed linen a sports kit and a generous welcome pack are provided

Getting around

It is best to have a car or bikes. Both of which can be hired locally. We have an arrangement with a local bike hire company that drops them off at La Roche Chabrelle (or elsewhere) and collects them. Sizes to suit all. Dordognecyclehire. 10 mins away is a bus stop that will take you to Périgueux or Ribérac. From either of these centres you can explore the rest of the Dordogne or beyond. Perigueux railway station can take you into Bordeaux to the West or Toulouse/Brive to the East. About 40 mins to the north of us is Angoulême TGV (InOui) and local trains to La Rochelle etc. And, of course, there are fantastic walks and taxis available.

Interaction with guest

We are a British couple in our 50's with 2 grown up children. We have been staying in gîtes for 30 years both with and without children. We have also camped and mobile home. The one common factor always is - FRANCE. We love it! We live on site most of the time, unless we are visiting family or friends - or just on holiday ourselves. We shall prepare your gîte for you (with help sometimes) and make sure the site is safe and the pool is warm (depending on the weather as we depend on solar panels!). Hot water is separate and always on-tap. We (or a trusted friend) shall be here to welcome you and get you settled in. There is an information book to help you. We are here in the background, if you need us, for advice on restaurants etc.

“Fabulous time spent here with our two dogs.”

This lovely gite is spacious and full of character. It has all you need for a perfect stay, whether a holiday or something longer. We stayed here for 6 months while house-hunting. It is a beautiful spot, just a few steps from the door and you are in the woods or leafy lanes. Our dogs absolutely loved it. Feeding the nearby horses and donkeys with carrots was great fun.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Charlie (the owner) a message.

If Charlie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
